Hurrah! Excellent news :)

RaspberrySnowCone · 13/09/2013 09:50

Haha, I didn't do Saturday night, I caved in and rang them 3 minutes early :)

Hurrah and well done. Rasp if they are doing so well and have gone to blastocyst by Sunday, I would opt for one, for the first ET. I have no choice whilst funded, like draf but can live with that. Although we are going to try a natural one along side my frostie Wink not that it has ever worked for us...

FrankelInFoal · 13/09/2013 10:17

Hurrah! Grin

RaspberrySnowCone · 13/09/2013 10:33

I think we will go for one. MATV likes the idea of twins but if we do have frosties I think one would be sensible, I'd be happy with that!

eurochick · 13/09/2013 10:39

I'm sorry about your sister cherry.

rasp that's great news! I'd really advise one. You are young and whilst having two put back would marginally increase the liklihood of success this round, leaving the second one to freeze would give you another FET round and the chances of success on a single FET round are higher than the increase in the success rates by putting back 2 vs 1 (if that makes sense). And that's without factoring in the risks with muliples. I saw my bestie's prem twins so teeny tiny in nicu and how gruelling the pregnancy was for her and it has put me right off. They talked me into having two put back on my second round, but I was very, very apprehensive about it and much more comfortable with SET.

RaspberrySnowCone · 13/09/2013 11:17

Thanks Euro, that's what I needed to hear and very similar to what the Doc said. Will chat with MATV tonight/tomorrow but I'm sure it will be one. I hate the thought of having twins but losing them because we got greedy.

Today/tomorrow are really going to drag. Might go to a country show tomorrow

Sounds good rasp. This is the last day of my holidays. My friends' twins are with us. They are lovely but my word they're hard work. It was worse when they were little - you couldn't enjoy a cuddle or feed because the other was screaming for something.

JethroTull · 13/09/2013 17:25

Fab news Rasp, brilliant to have 8 to choose from.

Oh, how horrid, bugs. Seeing a doctor sounds like a good plan.

We've just seen Rush at the cinema. Daniel Brühl is perfect as Niki Lauda, and Chris Hemsworth is gorgeous and not at all bad as James Hunt either. Highly recommended!

What are you most anxious about? Write it down - and next to it write down the counter argument to try and bring you back down. Write on a small card whatever the sensible and logical conclusion is, e.g., "I am a beautiful, funny, fit woman and my husband and dogs love cuddling under the duvet" or "I am really good with my hands and can make beautiful things which make people happy".

This is going to sound silly but one of the things I used to feel anxious about was my horse. I had this big, posh sports horse and someone told me she was "wasted" on me and should be competing. I had a card which basically said that if I wanted a Ferrari and wanted to drive around with it in second gear that was my prerogative.

Also, when I'm feeling anxious/down I need my clothes to be super-comfortable and flattering and I need to wear make-up. All about "the mask" I suppose.

xx

Anxiety is really really tough especially if it leads you into the vicious circle of insomnia. The woo cds help with that, if you find one you can fall asleep to.
are you worried about being around people who will ask you tactless questions or do your family otetty much know the score?
seeing a doctor is a good idea. There are also some good self help books available in a big enough water stones. I had one called overcoming anxiety but i foolishly donated it when i moved house. Obviously if you have a kindle app you can download. The books work a bit like cbt therapy does, making you take a step by step approach to breaking down the causes of your anxiety so they seem more manageable rather than one big hideous nightmare. And teaching you to use positive thoughts to counter the negative ones.

Bugs this was me Tuesday night, boling hot, sweaty, couldn't keep still, tears and hyperventilating, feeling sick an uncontrollable sense of something I couldn't explain and dread but not at anything in particular.. Good old traditional anxiety.

It's extremely hard to do but you need to sit in a quiet room, wear light clothes, or nothing at all in my case. Take a deep breath, breathe out, repeat. If anything comes into your mind force it out. Like I say it's very hard but it does work. Visualise something that makes you happy that has no connotations with anything to your current circumstances, every time a disruptive thought comes into your mind take a deep breath and force yourself to think about the happy thing. For me, I ended up thinking about going shopping the next day and promising to spend loads of money on me and what I was going to spend it on.

Just keep taking deep breaths. Eventually that gut wrenching feeling will pass.

How are you feeling now?

RaspberrySnowCone · 14/09/2013 07:36

Ps everything is always worse at night, I very rarely have an attack at any other time xx

Handhold for the anxious ones. I think the other BESHes have good advice, bugs. The only thing I have to add, is that you need to be thinking and looking after yourself now.

Keeping stuff crossed for an uneventful transfer of a fab embie tomorrow, rasp.

Waves at the hags, I am contemplating a run...

Good you're feeling better and well done for googling coping mechanisms. I am going for a run now, that is one of mine. I really hope you'll have a good day at the wedding!!

RaspberrySnowCone · 14/09/2013 08:08

Breathing is a bloody life saver Grin it does work, it just distracts as much as anything and seems to give your heart a chance to catch up

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 14/09/2013 09:10

Breathing is definitely good! If you can, try to "visualise" the breath moving inside you, so if your heart is racing imagine the in breath surrounding your heart and bringing it under control before breathing out the tension. Same if your stomach is churning.

I find Rescue Remedy helps a lot, if you can get to a chemist for some. Either a few drops straight into the back of your tongue or a few into a glass of water.

Nothing practical to add, bugs. But here's a hand to hold if you need it. I too am at a wedding later and dreading talk of baybees. Ah well. You're not a tosser - you're just dealing with difficult stuff! It's a miracle any of us are still standing - we ought to give ourselves a round of applause!

rasp sending you the very best of luck for ET tomorrow.
