Coming off microgynon

I stopped taking my pill on the 20th July and got a bleed on the 22nd which lasted for a week. Does that count as a period or do I need to wait again for another one. I'm a bit confused here lol

That would have been your usual withdrawal bleed, I'm guessing. So you can either start ttc straight away or wait until you've had at least one normal period.

Have already started was just thinking if it counts as a period based on a 28 day cycle then I'm 3 days late.

You don't know how long your cycles are going to be at the moment. Have you been using opks? I used them and ovulated on cd19 so my cycle is 33 days long if my luteal phase is 14 days (which it may not be). Did you get any signs of ovulation?

No it's not a real period, so you can't really count your cycle from then. Coming off the pill you never know how long it might take for ovulation and your period.

I don't know what an opk is haha. Noticed sticky CM and had a bit of an achy belly but that was all.

Okay, when was that? Try making a note on a calendar when you notice these things. Opks are ovulation prediction tests, which you wee on daily and they tell you when you're about to ovulate.

It was round about the beginning of August, I only remember cos I was going to a wedding the same time I noticed haha. How much do the ovulation tests cost?

Okay, that could have been a sign of ovulation but remember that sometimes ovulation doesn't actually happen. I would recommend some cheap opks - I got 30 from Amazon for about £6 but you can get more expensive ones in the shops.

By the way - I came off the pill at the same time ans got a patch of ewcm at the beginning of August but got another patch a few days ago, which is when I ovulated according to the opks. So it's difficult to say, really.

When I came off the pill it was 2 months before my period showed, I was every 30 days after that.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I was taking the pill Logynon which is similar to Microgynon and I stopped at the end of a 21 days packet and had the bleed, but this is just the usual period u have when u stop the pill and it's fine to start trying to conceive. You can wait anything from 3 weeks to 6 months for your natural periods to start again after coming off the pill. It depends on things like how regular you were before the pill and how long you've been on it. I stopped taking my pill in the middle of August 2010 and hot pregnant beginning of march 2011 so it took about 7 months to fall pregnant which after 15 years on the pill is quite good. I think it took me 5 months to have a natural period and then a month after I was pregnant.

I came off the pill end of june, had a period 25 days after the start of my last withdrawal bleed and then never got another one as I got upduffed. Don't read too much into how long it takes for periods to come back, everyone varies so much

Even though it probably wasn't a real period, doesn't mean you didn't ovulate and cant be pregnant. I didn't get any bleeding, period or otherwise between finishing my pill and falling pregnant.

I came off Microgynon after 12 years on it. I had the usual withdrawal bleed and then a few weeks later I had another bleed. 5 1/2 weeks after I took my final pill I got my BFP!
