Question about HCG, PCOS and Testing

Hi,

Ive been wandering for a while if its possible to have trouble getting a positive result on a pregnancy test if you have hormone problems and PCOS.

I had what seemed to be implantation bleed 3 weeks ago yet I tested the day before yesterday and its still negative. Is it possible if I have PCOS and other hormone problems the HCG would be produced properly? Or am I just being daft?

In a weird way I feel pregnant but I dont know if thats my mind playing tricks on me.

Ady advice welcome.

Thanks

Hi, having PCOS makes no difference to getting a true pregnancy test result as the HCG is produced by the growing embryo. I have PCOS and when I have been pregnant I have got accurate results. You may have to wait as what you thought was an implantation bleed may have been some mid cycle bleeding due to irregular cycles.

TTC when you've got PCO is a nightmare isn't it? Hang on in there and i'm sure you'll eventually get the result you want!!Smile

It is a nightmare, Ive been trying for 2 and a half years now, starting to think it will never happen. Sad

G,

TTC without medical assistance if you have PCOS is very hard if not almost impossible. At 2 1/2 years of ttc without success you should be under the care of a gynae if you are not already.

My suggestion to you G (if you are not seeing a gynae already) is to seek medical help from such a person for your PCOS. It is not a problem that will ever go away but it can be controlled. Many women with PCOS can become pg with assistance. I have PCOS too and became pg with help from a gynae.

www.verity-pcos.org.uk is the website of Verity which is specifically designed to help women with PCOS. I would suggest you read this website also.

Hi,

I am under the local hospital who are looking at me and having tests etc but have put it on hold for a while untill I get married as I have enough going on with the wedding.

Its my hen night tomorrow and I dont want to risk having a drink if Im pregnant but also if Im not I would like to have a drink and let my hair down as Ive been so stressed recently.
