This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

Thanks all :)

Treatment was 25 Pred plus omeprazole (to relieve the gut damaging effects of Pred. TAKE IT! Wink). Also hydroxy and cyclogest. Plus aspirin and pregnacare plus omega 3 and 50ug vitD3. Stopped Pred from 12 weeks, hydroxy and cyclogest at16 weeks. Aspirin stopped at 20 weeks.

I was measured to have v high NKCs but after I think my 2nd mc on treatment he said only take 25 as I found 40 to be very hard going and it takes 5 weeks to wean off which is no fun when you're also getting over an mc. Had 3 mc on treatment. He added hydroxy after my first mc on treatment. I've had 7 mc's in all.

Only change this time as I've said before is I stopped eating dairy in January having become lactose intolerant after having norovirus last December. Also took resveratrol from January to bfp to help reduce TNF alpha having been allergic to Humira last September. Also drank lots of decaf green tea (have gone off it now...!).

I think that's it for info though I wouldn't be surprised if I've forgotten something!

Good luck to those just setting off on this journey. Hopefully this pg will continue to go well and we will meet our little girl in March - can't help caveating it still!

BellyD · 31/10/2013 19:32

Brilliant news Choccy and Baking. So pleased for you, Choccy after all you have been through. Fingers crossed for you too Team.

teamdozie · 31/10/2013 20:52

Hi everyone just a quick update! It's not good news! Sack measured 8+3 but baby measured barely 6! And my sack as such an abnormal shape it looked like two!

Going In tomorrow for an ERPC. So fingers crossed we will get some answers!

I'll be back on soon!

Xx

Bakingtins · 31/10/2013 20:55

Shit team I am so sorry. Sad
Were you seeing Dr S? Did he have any words of wisdom?

teamdozie · 31/10/2013 21:13

No not at the moment. He did say if it was him that had seen me first time round he would have said if he thought it didn't look good! The previous week Louise did say its a sign of chromosome abnormalities! So I will just have to wait and see!

Now starts the journey back to normal! Not sure what's worse at the moment!

VillageMum · 31/10/2013 22:48

baking that's just absolutely wonderful news Smile

Oh team I'm so incredibly sorry. This must be gutting after your last scan, even though you knew there was a chance things might not work out. You've been so amazing and courageous. I really hope tomorrow passes quickly and that you get a chance to rest and recuperate. Thinking of you x

BellyD · 01/11/2013 07:57

Team so very, very sorry. It's just rubbish. Hope today goes as well as these hideous things can x

Bakingtins · 01/11/2013 08:03

team thinking of you today Flowers

freelancegirl · 01/11/2013 10:20

Team, am gutted for you :(

Arianrhod · 01/11/2013 11:01

team So very sorry, what a cr@ppy thing to happen.

baking Congrats for your scan!

choccy Grin I have to say I think of you every time I don't take the omeprazole ;) Mind you, haven't had to worry about that for a while anyway, so don't feel too bad! Can't wait to hear news about your little girl, I'm so damn pleased it's working out for you (yes it is! :) ).

LunaGL · 01/11/2013 14:52

Team so very sorry to hear your news and I hope that today goes as smoothly as these things can. You are such a determined person and I really relate to everything you have been through. I know that we will both reach our goals in the end - on willpower and determination.

Choccy your treatment programme sounds very similar to mine. I hope mine proves to be as successful.

I took my first Hydroxy this morning but wasn't sure if there was an optimum time to take it. Mr S didn't mention anything (at least I don't think he did). Has anyone experienced any side effects to it?

teamdozie · 01/11/2013 18:35

Hi everyone! Thank you for all your kind words! Today was quite quick! A very surreal experience as I was awake during the whole thing!

Now it's a waiting game to see what went wrong! We have decided to go to the fertility show this weekend to speak to a few people and see what other options we may have!

You have all been amazing thank you! I know we will all get there! I just don't know when!

Xx

ChoccyPud · 01/11/2013 20:29

So sorry team but glad today is over at least. Take time to heal.

Luna if you're taking Pred and omeprazole as well as hydroxy don't take them at the same time as you shouldn't take any indigestion type meds two hours either side of when you take hydroxy. I used to take Pred and omeprazole with breakfast and hydroxy with vits at dinner.

teamdozie · 02/11/2013 06:48

Thank you Choccy!

Luna I do the same as Choccy!

Xx

suemays · 02/11/2013 09:13

team so sorry to hear it hasn't worked out this time. I know that generally if a sac is the wrong shape or too small it generally means bad news but I am guessing where you went for your last scan that they were being optimistic.

choccy brilliant news you are passed the 20 week scan and that you are having a little girl! Have you announced the pregnancy officially yet? Did you take preds before bfp from ovulation this pregnancy? Also did you have intrallipids? I am sure I started weaning off the preds at 9 weeks so has mr s changed it to 12?

baking congrats to you too - the chance of miscarriage is very small for you now so a massive relief.

belly any news on your ivf round - what stage are you at? I am carefully watching you seeing as our amh etc are similar levels. Hope you have got lots of lovely eggs this time.

ChoccyPud · 02/11/2013 10:10

Hi Sue told you I was sure to have forgotten something!! Yes I had intralipids on bfp then every four weeks up at 16 - so in fact it was 3.4, 7.4, 11.4, 15.4. I started Pred on ovulation. I think you wean from 9 weeks if you're on 40 Pred but from 12 if you're on 25. Either way you finish by 14 weeks.

As to telling people yes we have. Ain't no hiding the little bowling ball any more! :)

suemays · 02/11/2013 13:16

choccy what strength pred were you on from ovulation? It must be lovely feeling confident to tell everyone!

VillageMum · 02/11/2013 14:17

Really glad it all went smoothly team but crikey, didn't they give you a general anaesthetic? Hope you get a chance to rest up now.

teamdozie · 02/11/2013 15:44

Hi Village
We didn't have it done on the NHS, we did it with Dr Shehata as I wouldn't have made it through the weekend and and I didn't want to miss the chance of getting the hydrology done. And he said he could do it under local. Since I'm not Squeamish I went for that! Not sure if I would recommend it though! I just didn't want a 4th general anaesthetic!

I haven't really stopped! We decided to go out for dinner last night. And today we went to the fertility show. I'd rather keep going!

Hope things are well with you!

Sue my last scan was at my local EPAU and normally they are all doom and gloom with me. I was keeping my guard up concise ring that Louise at Dr S's said that it could go the wrong way cause of the shape! I just know that you aren't out of the woods till that baby is safely in your hands! And I think I'll always expect the worst until that day!

We spoke to a lady from Zita West today and she was shocked that no one has suggested DH being tested. And other than his Karyotyping he hasn't!

So we shall see!

Xx

I've been away and logged on for the first time in ages to check on you all - and I thought I'd stumbled onto a thread from a couple of years ago. So thrilled to hear from scooter but devastated to hear about your latest loss. And free - we'll have to catch up for a coffee if you're feeling up to it.

Sorry to hear about what you've been through team and everyone else having a tough time.

Sounds like you are doing great choccy! Good luck for your nhs ivf appt duggs (hope I am remembering correctly)

My little one is doing ok, now one, but with some significant developmental delays hopefully just down to his early start in life and hopefully he'll catch up. Lots of medical appointments for now though.

Big hello to everyone else

Bakingtins · 03/11/2013 08:14

team I am so impressed at how positive you, and others on the thread, are being. Your determination is inspirational. I hope the fertility show gave you new avenues to explore, and that you get some answers from Dr S's tests.
