This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

Hi Village all is ok on this front (at the moment) applying has slowed but so has my nausea! Which is creaking me out! Although as I'm righting I have a nasty taste in my mouth and I feel a bit sick! So fingers crossed it's still all good!
Just to answer your question on SO. I was just about to be put on that when I got my BFP but I just asked him for it and he said yes! Lol so maybe just speak to Louise?

Luna good news about your results! Welcome to the rattling club lol! We seem to be on the same treatment. Although I didn't have intralipids pre conception.

Baking yes that's right! My scan is at 19.10 pm though! Lol! How are you feeling?

X

teamdozie · 29/10/2013 17:21

Sorry applying = spotting! Not sure what happened there

teamdozie · 29/10/2013 17:23

Poxy iphone cracking = freaking and righting = writing

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 18:21

I'm ok. Busy day tomorrow as going to visit a friend in the forest of Dean, so it will probably just be a sleepless night on Wednesday and anxious Thursday morning. 19.10 is a long time to wait and worry!

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 18:22

I have done as the doc said and contacted the MW to get booked in, though they are not going to see me until nearly 12 weeks. Just hoping I haven't jinxed it.

VillageMum · 29/10/2013 21:32

team that's great news about the spotting slowing! If I remember right, nausea can spike and then seem to ease as hormone levels rise and then briefly plateau every few days, so try not to worry about it (though I also drive myself mental trying to interpret every little wavelet of sickness [hmmm].) Thanks for the answer about super ovulation. I'm wondering why it might be recommended - is it meant to fix anovulation, or address PCOS? I wonder if there's a risk of multiple pregnancy if one usually has normal cycles and then goes in for SO? All stuff to ask Mr S next week I suppose.

baking congrats on booking in, that's not jinxing, just thinking positively!

Arianrhod · 30/10/2013 11:45

luna that's the same as the 'very high' NK cell programme I was on then - the omeprazole is just to alleviate any stomach issues from the pred, and 25mg pred from ov with 40mg from BFP. I was also on hydroxy, although as it turns out now I shouldn't have been!

Bear in mind that this does work well for lots of ladies, so fingers crossed it does for you too!

VillageMum · 30/10/2013 12:15

Ari did the hydroxy create problems for you? What is it supposed to do that pred doesn't?

Arianrhod · 30/10/2013 12:21

No village it didn't cause any problems for me at all, and I was on it for months. However someone on here recently said it's not supposed to be used for those with psoriasis, and I have psoriasis - which Mr S knew, so I'm extremely surprised he still put me on it. Unless he forgot that I have psoriasis, I don't know.

Arianrhod · 30/10/2013 12:23

And what it does that pred doesn't - pred is an immunosuppressant, where hydroxy is an immunomodulator I believe, they work in different ways. Mr S told me once they didn't know exactly how hydroxy works, and he didn't know how it helps for ladies with immune/miscarriage issues, he just believes it does. I understand hydroxy works on the white blood cells (as does neupogen, which I take now) but I have no idea how.

VillageMum · 30/10/2013 12:24

Thanks Ari, that's interesting. I wonder if he forgot, or was just very invested in prescribing it? I keep hearing it mentioned as a sort of wonder drug.

LunaGL · 30/10/2013 12:53

Village to answer your question, Mr S discussed SO as there are quite large gaps at times between my pregnancies. DH and I worked out that the gaps happen whenever he has stopped taking the ZW vitamins for a long period. When he was on them last year we had three sucsessive BFPs and then he stopped at the end of the year and only started again towards April 2013. Once it was in his system again we had another BFP so we are firm believers in the power of the ZW vits. Mr S felt that SO would just give us a better chance (I don't think he believed in our medical/vitamin expertise Wink ).

Arianrhod · 30/10/2013 14:05

luna I would say that the right vitamins can make a HUGE difference to sperm - so your and your DH's gut feelings about your pregnancies coinciding with when he was taking the ZW vitamins are most probably right! Mr S is good, very good, but he doesn't know everything remember!

VillageMum · 30/10/2013 17:07

Thanks for sharing, Luna, and I just want to second what ari has written. I'm a total believer in vits for the men (and for egg health too). It's commonly accepted that mineral deficiencies can contribute to other illnesses, so why wouldn't they make a difference to reproduction too, eh? Really hope that next time is the lucky one for you x

ChoccyPud · 30/10/2013 20:10

Hello all! Thought I'd better update... Had my 20 week scan today (@20.2) and all is well. In a bit of a departure from the majority on here, it's a girl!! Part of me still can't believe I'm here. I'm still partially in a kind of shock and dh and I keep going " we're having an actual baby!"

Whoever asked about Hydroxy, Ari is absolutely right about what it is and I don't know anyone who's had any side effects. Mr S isn't sure how it works, or how long each individual should take it. He took me off it at 16 weeks along with the cyclogest but I think eg free was on it all the way through. I've even stopped aspirin now I've got to 20 weeks, so am only on vitamins. It's a great feeling I can tell you!

I know there's been some bad news here recently and I hope I don't upset anyone by sharing my good news. For the long timers on here, you'll all know I've had my fair share of shitty times anyway! I hope that my news will have the same effect others' good news had on me during my lows and help keep people optimistic that it can work out, eventually.

brownstag · 30/10/2013 20:22

Wonderful news, Choccy xx

duggs1976 · 30/10/2013 21:17

Wow choccy Grinremind me again how many losses did you suffer before this and how many on treatment? Also what has been your treatment protocol this time ? I am telling DH as he knows all about you and I want encouragement for him x

Choccy your news is so wonderful to hear, and utterly encouraging to us newbies who have recently joined the thread. I love hearing about successful pregnancies, with or without meds!! Restores my faith in nature and the world (and science)!

team it's always perversely great when the nausea comes back, isn't it? I'm so glad. Everything crossed for your scan this evening, and for yours today too baking.

Luna when will you be starting on the meds?

Relieved to say my cycle seems to be back on track now, so hoping that we will be able to start ttc later this month.

Bakingtins · 31/10/2013 16:23

All looking ok at 9 week scan Smile
