Yes!!!! Cd17 after stopping the pill, I've had three days of ewcm and finally a positive opk, which I thought may not happen this month :) And we're off to stay in a hotel tonight to celebrate our second anniversary so that's good timing :)

Right, am I supposed to dtd today, tomorrow and Tuesday to cover ourselves or what?

Yay! How exciting for you!! DTD as much as your husband can stand! Grin

VJONES1985 · 18/08/2013 12:59

Poor thing, we've already done it for the last three nights and I'm a bit concerned about his sperm!!

And I feel so queasy today, annoyingly.

good news vjones! All that stress for nothing Smile.
A positive opk means you'll probably ovulate within 12-48 hours, so tonight's the best night, but you're likely covered anyway from the previous days. Just in case ov is delayed, you might want to continue dtd every other day for this week.

VJONES1985 · 18/08/2013 15:47

Yeah, think the plan is for tonight, tomorrow and possibly Tuesday then go back to every two days. So hopefully that's it covered!

Positive opk again today... So does that mean the egg hasn't popped out yet or could it mean that it's there as we speak? Not sure how lh levels work...

The LH peak is exactly that: it goes up, peaks and then goes down. So when you use an OPK and you get a positive, you might have caught the beginning of the peak, the peak itself, or the peak going down again. So as you test regularly, you might have caught it going up, and then this morning going down. My guess is you probably haven't ovulated yet, but it shouldn't be long (maybe today).

VJONES1985 · 19/08/2013 11:07

Yes, hopefully. Had plenty of signs last night such as sore boobs, feeling very hot and nausea.

OP posts:
VJONES1985 · 19/08/2013 11:12

And when the egg actually ovulates, the LH levels drop which results in a negative reading?

OP posts:
blueamber · 19/08/2013 13:21

the LH levels drop before ovulation, so you should get a negative reading just before ovulation.

VJONES1985 · 19/08/2013 13:41

I see. Perhaps that'll be tomorrow then. Will try to resist another opk test tonight!!

I caved and just tested again. Still positive but even darker this time. DH's face was a picture when I told him we'll be dtd tonight, tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening...

Any advice here? Opk this morning shows another dark line but slightly lighter than yesterday (although this may be because I had a drink within the last hour). Does this mean I still haven't ovulated?

OP posts:
blueamber · 20/08/2013 13:02

It could be that it's going down now... you cannot know the exact day of ovulation unless you do scans. So just keep dtd for this week.

VJONES1985 · 20/08/2013 16:51

Okay, thanks. Got less ewcm today too so perhaps that's linked.

Hi again. So, three days of positive opks (cd17-19) began with some brown tinged cm on cd15 (ovulation bleed??). Is this normal? Is it possible that I'm having an LH surge but may not actually ovulate? Have had ewcm for the last four days. Thanks.

OP posts:
babyrose · 20/08/2013 19:06

I have ovulation bleed every month sometimes there is more one month than there is the other so it could well be.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 11:44

Negative this morning. Ewcm has gone and my nipple s are less sore so I really hope ov actually happened and I'm in with a chance :(

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 19:07

Would people recommend that we keep dtd for a while to cover ourselves? I assume I ov yesterday but today have had twinges down below and a shooting pain in my boob. Could be linked to ovulation still?

OP posts:
VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 20:52

Bump - anyone?

OP posts:
blueamber · 21/08/2013 22:04

I'd say ov has happened, esp because you ewcm has gone. but some people follow smep which tells you to Skip today and then dtd again tomorrow. Do what you feel like though, don't force yourself.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 22:06

Yeah, I thought about smep but it says dtd for three days from positive opk so I don't know what to do in this case, where I've had three consecutive days of pos opk..?

OP posts:
blueamber · 21/08/2013 22:24

It's from the first positive. That's why it says dtd for three days, to cover any ov day, just like in your case. It then says skip a day and dtd one last time, to cover any chance that ov was late. But tbh I think it's overkill, as dtd every other day should be enough unless the sperm is weak maybe.

VJONES1985 · 21/08/2013 22:26

Okay, thank you for your help :)
