got my positive ov test .. but had sex only once , 12 hours later, my DH cant cope with more sex..weird bloke?? , wondering now if waste of time and that dtd too early and messed up another month.

It's shit isn't it? My DH doesn't always realise that the sex needs to be every other day between end of period and end of ovulation days. He seems to think once when ovulating is fine. Needlesstosay we are still not pregnant.

And another wasted month for us as I'm now on antibiotics so feeling rubbish. Sending positive thoughts your way! Xxx

One thing I'm sure I remember reading is that to get 'best quality' sperm or maybe its the highest concentration of swimmers you shouldn't be doing it too often - it needs to be able to build up, which is why I thought the recommendation was sex every 2 days should be enough to get pg.
Also the sperm can also live for a while in the nice moist environment of your body, so those that are in there are hopefully doing what they need to do.
p.s. I can't remember where I got that from and I'm not medical, but it was the approach that I used so that DP didn't really notice that I was in full baby making mode ;-)

A positive opk test usually means ovulation is imminent but wont tell you when you will actually ovulate, the only way to confirm ovulation has occured is a sustained rise in temperature. Have you thought about charting your temperature too? There's a lot of info about it on ther fertility friends website.
The best chances of conception are as a result of dtd before ovulation, even 2-3 days before gives a really high chance and it's possible from 5 d before. There's a website with statistics on this, can't remember what it is exactly but try googling "conception before ovulation" ,think it might be babycentre?
All it takes is once ,at the right time, so you're in with a shot!

The stats on baby centre are:

four per cent if you have sex five days before ovulation
15 per cent if you have sex four days before ovulation
25 per cent to 28 per cent if you have sex one or two days before ovulation
eight per cent to 10 per cent if you have sex within 24 hours of ovulation
