I take Pregnacare supplements, which contain b6, every day with breakfast.

babyrose · 14/08/2013 18:40

I take vitamin b6 everyday, it's really helped me alot.

pizzaqueen · 14/08/2013 18:40

I take pregnacare too but they only have a very small amount of b6 (10mg). I've read b6 can help with short luteal phase and balance hormones for ttc so have bought some b6 tablets to supplement.

babyrose do you take it all month long and what time of day?

I see. I would take it every day with your other tablet/s. They're vitamins rather than medication so can't imagine there would be a problem with taking it daily.

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 18:42

Babyrose - how has it helped you?

babyrose · 14/08/2013 18:44

I meant to say I take 50mg, I usually take first thing in the morning.

I've went from a 25 day cycle with the odd ovulation time where I get some cm to getting it every single month and it being really obvious I'm ovulating.

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 18:47

Wow,think I'll buy some extra vit b6 tonight then! Am already on extra dose of folic acid too so I'm a big ball of vitamins! Ha ha.

pizzaqueen · 14/08/2013 18:50

Pizza - how much is it in Holland and Barratt?

ImaginaryHat · 14/08/2013 18:52

I've started taking it this cycle with the hope of it stopping my pre period spotting and lengthening my luteal phase as its only borderline ok, about 11 days. Only on CD 13 though so not sure if anythings changed yet. Will report back in a couple of weeks! I'm taking 100mg dose.

ImaginaryHat · 14/08/2013 18:54

I think mine was about 6 quid in Holland and Barratt for 100 tablets. the 50mg is cheaper, £3.50 or so from memory.

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 18:55

Might get some from Sainsburys tonight then, as I'm going anyway.

pizzaqueen · 14/08/2013 18:56

yeh they start at £3.50 a bottle, I got the 100mg was £6 something.

Yip I take it all month. I've went from a 24 day cycle to exactly 27cd for the last 3 months whilst taking it but for some reason I've went to 30 days (just last month) which is pushing my cycles longer which is not what I wanted to do.

So maybe its ok for a wee while. Just not sure why it keeps changing and making things longer

blueamber · 14/08/2013 20:14

Vjones, I wouldn't take it yet, You're just coming off the pill and you don't know your cycles yet. B6 can help to lengthen the luteal phase, but it can potentially delay ovulation as well. So I would recommend to just take your prenatal vitamins and wait a bit longer to see what your cycle is like.

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 20:17

Blueamber - yes,I thought of that just after posting my reply. I wouldn't want to mess around with my luteal phase or ovulation before I actually know my cycle. Thanks :)
