Could I be pregnant?

I stopped taking the pill on the 20th July and had a 7 day bleed from the 22nd July. Have DTD several times since then and just have the feeling I'm pregnant. I know it sounds silly but I kind of just know (and hope) that I am. How soon could I do a pregnancy test? As I've just came off the pill an used to run it continuously I don't know how long my real cycle is.
Any help and advice would be great.

I'm in the same position as you so am going to test on day 28 of this 'cycle' (day 1 being the first day of my last breakthrough bleed). Anything earlier than that may be too early to tell. Have you had any symptoms that make you think you're preg?

I'm just too excited I'm dying to just find out!
I've been feeling quite sick when I wake up in the morning and at different points through out the day not actually been sick just been feeling it, also been quite grumpy when I'm quite a happy person and tired no matter how much I've been sleeping. Have you had any symptoms?
I really want to go buy a test today and see but dont want it to be a waste of money!
How is it you work out your cycle? Is day one of your cycle day one of your last period?

Yes, that's right. So if your cycle is the regular 28 days, you would have ovulated about a week ago so you would have had to have dtd on that day and around it, realistically. These symptoms could be caused by coming off the pill - I've had similar symptoms but I know they can't be pregnancy because day 1 for me was August 2nd so I am now kn cd12.

You shouldn't test until your period is due, so that's about 14 days after you ovulate.

Just buy a test from poundland they are very sensitive 25

VJONES1985 · 13/08/2013 13:20

Do you know how sensitive they are? I thought the most sensitive are from 4 days before af is due, but could be wrong.

Lettuce91 · 13/08/2013 13:21

Thanks for your help VJones. I might just get a test from pound land today just to see and test again round about when I should be expecting my period. Thanks pearlywhites :)

I've heard a few people say they're really sensitive too.

Assuming 28 day cycle, you could have ovulated between 5th August and 13th August, allowing for a 7 day bleed. So if your last period started 22nd July, the 28 day cycle means you'd be due again about 19th August. So you could take a test now, but your hormone levels could be to low for it to pick up. Maybe give it until about the 22nd August to test?

I know it seems ages to wait, but if you've only just come off the pill, it could be your body reacting to the change as you revert back to your natural hormones?

(Although tests normally come in a pack of two, so if you really can't wait you can do one now and if you get a bfn, test again later!Grin )

I was in your situation and turned out I was pregnanct! But my cycle was mixed up a bit as did 3 tests after what would have been 28 days into my cycle (28 days from start of last period/withdrawal bleed) and all came back negative. But then at day 37 I got my BFP....so you might need to be patient!

Lettuce91 · 13/08/2013 13:30

The suspense is killing me! Haha.
Think I will get one today and if a bfn keep the second one n try again in a few weeks :)

Yes, that's true - sometimes it takes days for a bfp to show up :-)
