Hiya :) welcome! There's plenty of advice here! Good luck to you and your partner :) ... I'm not sure as relatively new on here too but there may be a thread for ladies like yourself ttc so may be worth a look through the topic list!

Beautifulboy1 · 13/08/2013 13:13

Hi ladies, there is a thread on here either August bus or September bus depending on when your next period is due, I have literally just joined them, there is roughly 30 ladies on there who keep track of which cycle your on and when BFP (big fat positive) is due, give each other advice and go through the process month after month. I am still on August bus as I am due on 25th Aug. Hopefully see you on there! x

ImaginaryHat · 13/08/2013 16:27

Hi little, welcome! I would second joining one of the buses, lots of friendly ladies going through the same as you, symptom spotting, trying to answer each others questions, peeing on various sticks and celebrating or commiserating together! Its a good support network esp if you don't want to drive your oh crazy by talking about ttc 24/7 and don't want to tell people in real life about it.

I'm on the august bus too, but also lurking on the September bus as my bfp/af due either end of august or early sepetember.

Good luck!

Beautifulboy1 · 13/08/2013 17:11

I'll keep an eye out for you the ImaginaryHat as we are due our BFP roughly around the same time. How long are your cycles? Mine are 24 days so I am cd12 and not ovulated yet according to cb opk's. AF due roughly 25th to 27th

ImaginaryHat · 13/08/2013 17:29

Hi beautiful yeah it will be nice to ride the bus with someone due around the same time!

My cycles are usually 28-30 days but I just had a really short cycle for me (about 24 days) and I've had some spotting up to a week before af since starting to ttc (I think my body is a bit confused as to what's happening!), so working on 28 days I'm due bfp/af around 30th, but it could be a few days earlier or later. I'm CD 12 today too, also not had a positive opk yet either but managed to dtd on cd10 and today so far.

Good luck and see you on the bus!

VJONES1985 · 13/08/2013 19:04

ImaginaryHat / Beautiful - how strange,I am also on CD12 and have not yet had positive opk! No idea how long my cycle is so will test around the 30th if af makes no appearance!

ImaginaryHat · 13/08/2013 19:20

Cool, 3 of us at the same stage, we can obsess together! I got my positive opk really early for me at cd13 last time, which probably explains my short cycle last time as I think my luteal phase is around 11 days. Its usually between CD 16 and 19 when I have longer cycles so it could be a while for me yet.

Hopefully your cycle will settle straight down with a positive outcome!

VJONES1985 · 13/08/2013 19:23

Yes, hope so. And that's made me feel better about not having positive opk yet, if you sometimes don't get yours until cd16 or later. Fingers crossed it'll turn up soon then!

Beautifulboy1 · 14/08/2013 09:55

Made me feel so much better too, make sure whoever gets a smile first put it on here so we can all check as chances are we probably follow the same cycle x

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 09:58

Any ideas about when is the best time of the day to test?

Beautifulboy1 · 14/08/2013 10:15

I have read 2pm as the morning urine is too strong, they say try not to wee between 11 an 2 and don't drink any water for the last hour as this can dilute the strength. I couldn't resist and tested this morning though, yet another negative! I'll try at 2 and let you know x

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 10:34

I'm going to the cinema at 1.00 so won't be able to test until gone 3.00. Do you reckon that's okay? Once I'm back at work, I wouldn't be able to test every day until at least 6pm!

Beautifulboy1 · 14/08/2013 10:36

yeah its fine, it says test between 2pm and 8pm, I'm thinking the important part is to not drink water for an hour before testing x

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 10:39

Ah right, I didn't know that bit! Am finding it v hard to cope with not knowing if and when I'm going to ovulate and the long wait I'm going to have for af/bfp :(

Beautifulboy1 · 14/08/2013 13:24

I know I have wasted so may strips trying to find out, for some reason I think I may ovulate cd16, don't ask me why, just a feeling?! Its so strange as I used to have a 28 day cycle pre #1 now my AF have returned it is 24 days which I hear is unusual as the shortest tends to be 25?! worries me abit x

ImaginaryHat · 14/08/2013 19:04

Hi ladies just got in from work and did my opk. I use cheapie internet strips as they work well for me, and had the faintest of lines, so going by my usual pattern it will get slightly darker over the next day or 2 then I'll get my positive (v dark line). I expect it'll be in 2 or 3 days. That is of course unless the vit b6 I've started taking this cycle makes something different happen!

beautiful I'd don't think I'd be overly worried about 24 days but you could try the b6, I've heard it has helped lengthen some peoples luteal phase so it could help if yours is shorter now?

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 19:07

Wish my opks went like that, imaginaryhat! I had no line for two days, faint line for two days and now back to nothing again. Still, I guess it's only cd13...

ImaginaryHat · 14/08/2013 19:14

Yeah you've still got plenty of time don't worry. I do find this the most frustrating part of my cycle though, even more so than 2ww, as you're just waiting for a positive ipk. At least in 2ww you know you've done all you can!

I know I'm one of the lucky ones with the cheapies, a lot of ppl have lines all cycle long or don't get a line at all, I'm grateful as it saves me a lot of cash!

VJONES1985 · 14/08/2013 19:15

Glad I'm not the only one having an opk nightmare, then!

justb01 · 16/08/2013 08:37

That's why I'd advise you to switch to temping, problem will solve!Smile

VJONES1985 · 16/08/2013 08:57

But with temping it tells you after you've ovulated so isn't it a bit pointless..?
