Ovulating too early? :(

So I have been using OPKs for the last month or so as we have begun ttc in earnest. Last month I had a positive result on CD11 and I have an irregular cycle of c. 25-27 days mostly, so that kind of made sense.

I thought I'd start testing for LH surge from CD10 this month, yesterday. But on CD9 I had 'mini-period' pains and faint brownish discharge .

Was this me ovulating? :( Is it then over for this month? (CD11 today.) I tried the OPK yesterday, and nothing, but is it maybe too late rather than too early?

:( here we go again..... I really need to start charting properly, don't I......

Hi, not sure if it will help but I read a post on another forum from a natural fertility expert about how to tell when you are fertile, it may be worth a read for you as it mentions ovulation and period times in it. forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=537 Hope this helps, good luck xxx

Ovulation very rarely is a fixed date, very often it varies from cycle to cycle. It`s possible that you already ovulated. Nezt time try to observe you body for example chart body basal temperature for a while cycle, it should grow around ovulation time, check out the posistion of cervix if its low and feels in touch like tip of your tongue it means that ovulation is really close, and of course there is an issue of mucus on fertile days it should be transparent, elastic like an egg white. In the same time you can make ovulation tests for urine or saliva. Good luck :)

Hi all - thanks for this. I started temp charting today so hopefully I will be able to predict it better next cycle! I thought ovulation was always fairly fixed, so interesting and relieving to know it is not, necessarily.

I can't find my cervix as it is retroverted, which makes it harder to find. I might have another go but it's quite hard, normally. We also can't swi every day as DH has erectile problems. That's why it's so important to know when I'm ov'g so we can swi just around those days.
