Hello all never left message before but just had to tell all that were trying after depo that there is hope!! I had last injection Dec so it ran out in March, had no period real period in April then back to normal in May, just found out am 5 weeks so it can happen!! Grin

I know its really early to get excited but just wanted also to pass on some info about when you do get pregnant after depo. Apparently the cause of increased miscarriage is due to depo lowering progesterone levels and therefore as soon as you find out you are go to doctor to get your level checked. If its low they can apparently just give you tablets to increase it. I have doctors on Thurs so I'll let you know if its all true!!!!

Bow, congratulations - hope you're feeling ok, and everything goes well.

Had depo until Oct '02, periods returned May '03, decided to try and get pregnant in Aug '03, had baby in May '04! I wasn't aware there was a risk of increased miscarriage after depo (typed 'dope' first of all then, oops!!).

Hi All, just to let you know that have seen doctor and he assured me that in his opinion there is no higher risk of miscarriage and wouldn't give me a progesterone test. He may well be right (prob is!) but I think if it happens to you it can't hurt to ask!

i have been on depo for around a year and year and half. My periods stopped completely over a year ago I had my last injection 4 weeks ago and for the last 2 days have had spotting. The only other time i has this and the funny feeling in my tummy were with implantation with my DS1 & DS2.I was a little late -eg: 3 days getting last injection due to nurse being "too busy". Cant be pregnant. CAN I? TAI for any information

I am pleased to find someone that has conceived quickly after using depo. I have had 2 shots and then found a lot of horror stories on the net. I have stopped taking the depo and hope to conceive quickly. I am taking raw juices each day to cleanse my system and drink lots of water. does anyone else have anymore tips to help speed up the process?

Good luck to others who are giving up this awful drug.

Well I had the last depo injection November 2004 and no joy - ttc number 3 - had a blood test a few weeks ago and everything was fine so just waiting really, nice to see there is hope for some falling quickly - would never use depo again!!

I worked at a women's clinic in the US which would only administer Depo to women who were sure - they were counselled first - that their family was complete.

The director there, herself an experienced obstetrician and mother of 3, considered it an alternative to sterilisation.

Hope you all fall pregnant soon.

In Australia we are not councelled before having depo. the doctor just says take it. The other baddie which is similar is the implanon implant which is also progesterone only and has similar side effects but is implanted for 3 yrs. they give this to girls as young as 14 yrs.
