Hey mamas, I've been on the mirena now for about 6 months, and the last week and a half I've been exhausted, really tender breasts, to the point where I can't sleep on my side without a sports bra on, let alone let my OH touch them! Feeling bloated and just yuck, I'm not like this usually, and haven't been since I've been on the coil, just this last week, I feel like I did with my last two pregnancies. Is it even poss?? Its really screwing with me!! Stared at a preg test so long I'm convinced I saw a faint positive haha?! Help me mamas! Its too early to test I think? And I wasn't shown how to test to see if my coil wires are still in place. Soothe my mind please.. Xx

I had a could and was told to just stick my fingers up there to feel if the strings r still there.you should be able to feel them if they r there,u shouldn't have to go too far up.

Thank you, just tried and could only feel the bottom of wires and that was knuckle deep, is that correct?

You can get pregnant with a Mirena still in place, I know of people that have.

You can also get pregnancy symptoms from the Mirena, they usually go away again after a few weeks in my experience. I spoke to my GP about it and she said it was a known side effect and that the Mirena doesn't affect the efficiency of pregnancy tests.

As far as checking for the wires, I just have a quick feel and if I can feel them I assume it's all fine, lol.

Thank you, it just has freaked me since I haven't had any of these effects yet and just sprung up on me 6months later, hopefully I'm just over tired and need a toddler free snooze!

Freaked me out too, lol - I'd had it in about a year when it happened to me, they went away after a few weeks and it happened again every so often.

Bit of a pita, but I like everything else about it so not so annoying that I decided it wasn't worth having it in.

I'm getting it out on the 8th, just needed to make sure first, whens the earliest you can test?
