My husband and I have been to fertility specialists and found we have no actual problems I am irregular and a bit over weight but doc see nothing wrong. Its been over three years and we are desperate! A girl he work with had been trying and told him a few weeks ago about the "turkey baster" method and that she got pregnant the first month.. how does this work and has anyone else tried this?

The turkey baster method actually uses a syringe (5 or 10ml) rather than a turkey baster. We had to use this due to some issues we had. First baby pregnant in 4 cycles, 2nd one just one cycle (although very early days so fingers crossed).

I used OPKs to identify my ovulation day, then we inseminated on the day of the positive plus the following day as a minimum.

If you want the gory details, I gave DH a handjob into a cup. Kept cup under my arm for about 10 mins whilst it liquefied. Then used syringe to insert, DH gave me orgasm and I stayed lying down for at least 40-60 mins.

I hope this helps. Google artificial insemination and you'll probably find more info.

I should add though as I don't want to give you any false hope - our issues were physical and we had no other fertility issues and I have always been very regular (although I am overweight). We have never tried to get pregnant the traditional way either (as I have vaginismus).

I can't see how the turkey baster is better than the normal way of insemnitation. Unless ofc there is some physical problem involved like itstooembarrassing says.

I also cannot see what a turkey baster will offer you that a normal ejaculating penis wouldn't.

If you are having intercourse on the days you are ovulating, your partner is ejaculating inside you, there is no benefit to be gained.

My ovulation is very irregular our fertility Dr said to have sex every other day and that turns sex into a job it no fun... we are considering this way so we get get the pieces all together and when we want to have sex we can
