I am not actually TTc but just thought you guys might be able to help me out with something that has always bugged me.

My cycle is approx 30 days. I have never temped or anything like that, but feel I mnow my body and its signs quite well...I just dint actually know what the 'signs' mean and this is whe you might be ale to help Grin

Between about day 13-day 18 of my cycle (when in theory I would be ovulating) I feel really good, energetic, happy and have a high sex drive. My discharge (sorry if tmi) is quite copious and clear. Sounds like ivulation, right? But then for about 7 days after THAT (so day 18-25 ish), I have even more stringy clear egg whitey discharge, but begin to look and feel crap. I get very bloated, spotty, feel hormonal, get period type aches in my back and abdomen and feel really crabby and hot.

This settles down and then about a week later I get my period. Do you think this latter crabby phase could actually be when I ovulate. It feels like PMt, but its too early in my cycle to be that.

This may be a stupid question! Tia

sounds about right. but the only way to know for sure would be to temp. could you not do it just for one month to confirm what you think?

If your cycle is about 30 days, and a luteal phase is on average between 12 - 16 days long then in theory you should ovulate between cd 14 and 18. Usually you don't get stringy egg white cervical mucus after ovulation; it should go back to watery/creamy. But cm is not always a reliable way of keeping track of ovulation, so perhaps you could try keeping track of your cervical position? Or just make sure you dtd every other day between say day 12 and day 25?

btw perhaps your feelings are connected to the rise in progesterone and this starts rising pretty soon after ovulation
