chemical pregnancy?

Hi Everyone

I think I probably know the answer to this already, but am going to ask just in case there's any hope...

I OVd CD17 and got a faint but definite BFP on Friday, which was CD29 / 12DPO, using a superdrug pink line test with FMU. I tested again the following day but got BFNs on some internet cheapies.

I had strong cramping on Sunday which was exactly like my first pregnancy, and have been feeling fatigued, hungry and thirsty ever since which I took for all good signs. I didn't test again on Sunday, but did yesterday (mid-afternoon) and got a BFP that was so faint it was barely there - less so than Friday (also on a superdrug test). I've continued to have pregnancy symptoms though, including a slightly leaky nipple.

I just tested again on a superdrug test with FMU and the line is barely more than a shadow. My BBT also dropped below coverline by a substantial amount today. I suspect it's probably a chemical, although I've got no spotting or blood. What does anyone else think? Go to the Dr or just ride it out for a few days and see what happens?

Driving myself and DH nuts so any feedback would be welcome!
Thanks all
J

It does sound like a chemical. IMO there is no point going to the dr as there is nothing they can do anyway. The only reason might be to get it on file if you think you might need recurrent miscarriage investigations.

Thanks for the voice of reason!
It would be my first mc so I think I'll just have to be patient and start TTC again in a couple of months.

I'm wondering that same thing. Got a BFP on an Internet cheapie confirmed by a clearblue digi (not with fmu) last week at around 12dpo. Tested the next morning with another Internet cheapie and the line hadn't got any darker. Started to bleed on Sunday but with no cramps, not a really heavy bleed like I would expect a miscarriage to be, so reckoning it's just my period now Hmm. Going to the EPU tomorrow morning anyway just so they can confirm the inevitable and as euro says, get it on record.

Good luck to you, it's all just rubbish isn't it?

Thanks - good luck to you too!

It's the waiting and not knowing that's so awful isn't it? If it is an mc, I wish my body would just hurry up and get on with it so I can deal with it and move on...

Ah well, whatever happens, I'm not going to change it by stressing so am going to have a cup of tea and try to let it all run its course.

Yes the waiting is awful! I just want to move on and get over it now!

Could you maybe get an appointment at your nearest early pregnancy clinic? At least they would be able to confirm one way or another.

That's an idea, though I might just wait a few days and see if AF appears. If there's no change after the weekend, I'll definitely try and make an appointment.
