Help needed, going mad!!

Things have been a but odd lately! Me and my partner have been ttc for about 8 months now. May time AF was all over the place and more a month of discharge, which made tracking my cycle hard, the last couple of months we seem to be back on track....at least so I thought.

AF finished on 13 July, I had a couple of very faint positives on my ov test around 18 July I didn't think any more of it then on 24th I was confronted with bright red spotting. This lasted a couple days before turning brown and yesterday it was all clear.
Until we had sex and I had a brown/red discharge last night which has now cleared up.

All week I've not felt myself, I've been tired, grouchy, hungry and sickly. I'm determined not to get my hopes up as I don't think any dates fit. We did a test which as suspected was negative but I think it's too early anyway to get anything else.

Anyone out there any ideas? My partner says I should go to the doctor in case it's serious problems, especially after May's AF troubles. I hate going to the doctor unless I think it's valid! Sounds silly I know!!

Any help and advice would be very grateful.

Hi, how long are your cycles normally?

Starkin · 30/07/2013 10:53

Hi, average cycle is 24 days

And when did AF start? From a cycle length of 24 days, it sounds possible that you could have conceived... but it's also more likely that it will fail to implant because of a shorter luteal phase - but ofc that depends how early you ovulated/how long from ovulation till AF.

That sounds like quite a lot of 'spotting' to me Hmm but I'm no expert. If your cycles are that short, you must be due on again soon? I'd be inclined to wait till then and test if necessary unless you have any further 'spotting' - I'd suggest that much bleeding between periods short be looked into by a doctor.

Hi RaRaZ,

Thanks for the advice Smile

AF started on 9th July and I had a faint lines on my ovulation test on 18th and 19th July but as I've only had a couple of definite positives I don't hold them in the highest regard!

If I were you - and I know they're bloody expensive - I'd buy digital ones in future; I just find the normal ones way too hard to read and I think it's nigh-on impossible to guess when they're positive when according to the instructions if the second line is as dark or similar to the first, it's positive - how similar does it need to be/where is the cut-off point?! Digital ones are horribly expensive, but at least you can't mistake them.

When's AF due? I'm awaiting mine on 7th Aug and I'm guessing you'll be about the same? Hate the waiting game Sad. Kinda think I have conceived this month....but too scared to let myself believe it! Just want AF here now (or preferably not) so I know!

Starkin · 30/07/2013 15:26

I'm due on the 6th Aug. I've looked at the digital ones before and the price really did put me off but I guess you're right, save up and get one.

I know exactly how you feel Sad every symptom has been different to how I would normally be feeling and today has been a bit of a bloat-fest but I put that down to the crisps I treated myself to Grin

I've done the getting excited before and I feel like poop and a total waste of space when I get a negative, so I'm trying not to get too convinced but then I start to worry I've got something bad wrong with me they way the cycle has been going.....anyway it's nice to know there are other woman out there going through similar.

Fingers crossed for you, I really hope it's goo news Smile keep me updated

Well the wait is over, a week early and AF rears her ugly head! Devastated just about covers how I feel. All those symptoms were just something new I have to take into consideration next time.
It's selfish and childish but I will spend today teary, wallowing in self pity, and eating all that is wrong for me.

Fingers crossed for next time I guess........

Starkin · 02/08/2013 12:38

I'm thinking maybe I should go see my Dr just in case. I've been quite stressed at work recently so maybe that has had an effect.
