dr said i was pregnant and then a negative test pls help im stressed

Okay so a few weeks ago the doctor confirmed via a blood test i was pregnant:) my partner and i was over the moon weve been trying for two year had 2 mc and thought we couldnt have any kids:( so wen we found out this new we were extated absolutely overjoyed and then after bein declared pregnant i done another test to prove it to a friend and then it said negative :( so i done 3 more test and they said the same:( im so stressed im fed up of all these mcs nd false hope has anyone evef experienced this and have you any advice on ttc for me as im really trying and im jus so depressed now i feel like giving up :'(

So sorry to hear this.

You should see your doctor to double-check, but this could be an early miscarriage.

I appreciate it may not be much comfort right now, but if the worst has happened then this would be your third MC. After three MC's your gp can refer you for recurrent miscarriage testing, so you may at least find out what the problem is and be able to fix it.

How pregnant should you be? Isn't there a limit on the levels of pregnancy hormone a home test can read?
(I have know idea if this is correct, think I read it somewhere) I hope you find answers soon.

I havent had any bleeding or pain but and yea my partnerblooked it up and said that could be the reason y it saod negative xx

Oh I'm really sorry . Similar happened to me in May, and it's awful. I'm afraid it's most likely an early mc. My thoughts are with you . Take care.

How far pregnant are you meant to be mummy need? Do you have any symptoms? Sickness, tired etc?

Could have been a chemical pregnancy, would show up pregnancy hormones on blood test but egg then doesn't implant in womb.

How many weeks are you meant to be.

Was meant to be 6-8 weeks Nd i had all the typical symptoms jus so pissed off xx

Mummy : I don't mean to be horrible, but it is possible to mc without either...the body can reabsorb. I really really hope I'm wrong in your case though.

Well i havent retesed but im now getting the queezy nausea and vommiting and the tiredness and constipation could i be pregnant and the negatives just werent picking it up cz wen i phoned the doctor this morning and explained it to her she said tgat my blood test said i am pregnant and that explains my sickness and said that i didnt miscarriage and that the hpk jus didnt pick it up does anyone else think this could be the case ? Xx

Sorry - I'm not sure.

But hopefully your doctor knows best...and it wouldn't surprise me if the blood test is just a lot more sensitive and has picked up Mich earlier than the negative tests.

Boots own ones cz i dont have a lot of money atm and its jus so fristrating xxx

I don't want to give you false hope but I tested negative with every test I took til ten weeks! False negatives are fairly common

If your only 6-8 weeks and using cheap tests I wouldn't jump to any conclusions right now.

If you can't stretch to a better test you should go back to the doc.

Also worth testing first thing in the morning as your tribe will have a higher concentration of the chemical test is looking for.

There are alternatives to the possibility of miscarriage that people have suggested here. Firstly it could be that like some women you just haven't metabolised the hcg into your urine thus rendering home pregnancy tests useless. Or only get late positive tests.

Alternatively the levels of hcg are so high that you get the "hook effect", where too much hcg causes the home pregnancy tests to effectively overload and give a false negative. This does not normally happen til after 8 weeks.

My mum and sister both had successful pregnancies where they never got a positive test, it is not always a problem.

Try to relax and trust all is well, if it is worrying you too much the see your doctor/ midwife for reassurance. All the best.
