On Clomid cycle #5. AF today and consultant has told me to take day 2-6.

But DH had surgery on Tues and the chances of him returning to raging stallion form by day 11 or thereabouts seem slim.

So should I take the pills this month or wait till next?

If you think you will miss your window then leave it till next month. I was only given a 6 month cycle and was told that I wouldn't be offered more. When I started to have strange side effects after my 2nd cycle I decided not to take anymore until after my follow up to ensure I didn't waste my 6 months. On my clomid free month I got caught and we only did it twice that month. I ovulated myself a few days later than when on the clomid. Not sure the drug builds up but it can kick start your natural cycle......good luck and have a relaxing month off x

Thanks 10oclocknews. tbh all the evidence was that I am ovulating naturally anyway. Not sure she didn't just prescribe it to stop us returning to her surgery every 6 months and looking expectantly at her while she shuffled our records around in a slightly embarrassed fashion and said 'hmmmmm...not really sure what the problem is here...'

Any fertility experts out there want to tell me if there would be a benefit to taking it?

Liking the idea of a relaxing month off though...

yes clomid can help people who are already ovulating. A lady in the infertility thread where i am is 8wks preg now on her 2nd clomid cycle and she was ovulating on her own. I think clomid helped her to produce more mature egg. And feel free to take a month off ttc cos that's exactly what i'm doing this cycle i've done 3cycles of clomid but taking a break cos my darling husband and i are distant apart before i ll see him i must have missed my window. Pls enjoy your month off and i also agree with 10o'clock news , you may catch it just when you take a break off the drug. How long have you been trying? Mine is close to 3yrs

Thanks dprecious. 2.5yrs in Smile actually getting a lot easier now I'm really quite resigned to it. So yes, maybe a month off.
