Am a veteran of many day 3 tests and this test looks at both LH (luteinising hormone) and FSH (follicle stimulation hormone). LH and FSH are two very important hormones as they play a large part in the initial process of ovulation.

The levels of LH and FSH should be compared against one another. They may look allright separately but when compared there may be an imbalance. Ideally both levels should be about the same but if LH is higher than FSH this is one possible indicator of PCOS. Such hormone tests should also be done more than once
