Clomid not working??

Hi all,

Just a question about Clomid - We've been trying for 18 months, my cycles had been really irregular but the last two months before going on Clomid they had come down to 30 days. I had wanted to try Clomid to try and lengthen my LP phase which had been about 7-10 days judging by my rough calculations (the nurse does not agree with me on LP phases being too short).

Last month I took clomid for the first time (50 mg) and my cycle went back to 34 days, day 21 bloods showed I hadn't ov'd, although judging by my CM it was about day 24. The hospital has increased my dose to 100 mg but now on day 12 and still no sign of CM. Can clomid make your cycles worse? Or am I just being impatient?

Getting quite frustrated with it all now!

I can't really help much as I'm on my first cycle of clomid (been ttc 19 months) but I also had an LP of 7-10 days, usually Ov on cd19 or cd22, although not always regular. I'm only on cd12 but cbfm is giving me high already, so I'm expecting Ov sooner than normal. One thing I was told though was that clomid could dry you up, so especially if you've upped the dose you may not notice any cm but could still be about to ov. It might yet be working for you!

I didn't ovulate on 50mg but did on 100mg but had no signs of cm.
Consultants I've seen have ways been adamant that the LP is never shorter than 14 but I really struggle to believe that

Bloody consultants and nurses who say stuff that is factually incorrect makes me really stabby. If your nurse/consultant won't listen about your LP i would suggest changing, they should be treating this (with progesterone potentially) alongside the clomid

A lp of less than 10 days could be preventing implementation. This is for instance mentioned in the book taking charge of your fertility, in case you want a source to back you up if you want to raise this with the doc. The nurse isn't as educated as the doc, but then again some docs dont understand this either.

It is possible to have cm after ov, but also clomid can stop ewcm. Perhaps pop Into the chemist and get some conception lubricant like conception plus or preseed.
