So i have an appointment with the fertility clinic what will they do?

I have an appointment on the 1st august. I have all my bloodwork done and all have come back normal. I ovulate every month which has been confirmed by testing progesterone and by me temping every month.

Tested for pcos and had ultrasound scan of ovaries, all completely normal.

I am spotting brown blood from around 8dpo, changing to slightly newer blood a couple of days before af starts properly which is around dpo15.

Been ttc dc2 for over a year. Last pg was last July and ended in early mc, nothing since.

Can anyone advise me what they will do at the appointment? What is the normal procedure? Thank you in advance.

They may run their own tests, depending how recent yours were. In my experience the first appointment was just to discuss options and previous results

I also have an appt on 1st Aug, TTC DC2! Let's hope it's an auspicious day.

I had bloods taken in March which I'm going to be discussing a bit further (have been told they were fine but I've since realised my cycle was a bit odd at the time so I'm not sure the readings are reliable).

Have you had a hysterosalpingogram? I had one before DC1, 4 years ago, so I'm not sure whether they'll suggest that again.

My tests were about 6 weeks ago.

You are put on a tilting hospital bed and someone squirts dye up your fanjo. They then x-ray you. It's to check if your tubes are blocked.

I got pregnant the following month, after 8 months of trying. It's a very odd experience though!

Oooh my sister had that and said it was really painful... the mc that I had was never confirmed as ectopic as it ended naturally but at the time they couldn't find the pregnancy with an internal scan and because my hcg levels rose slightly and I didn't get a +ive hpt until AFTER my af!

So I think they'll need to do one of those to check my tubes...

Forgot to mention had a smear recently and swabs just to rule out anything in that region and that was clear aswell.

It wasn't great, I have to say. Luckily it was over just as I was about to say I needed a break. Having said which, that was before childbirth, maybe my threshold is higher now!

I'm really hoping there'll be some suggestions made and action taken at the appointment, I'm 42 and don't want to just 'wait and see'.

I was given and took clomid, despite not having any kind of ovulation problem. I think they often tend to throw that at unexplained infertility but I felt like I wasted more than 12 months on it.

I also had an hsg, before the clomid.

My hsg wasn't at all painful.

Oh yes I forgot to mention dh! He is taking his sample in tomorrow morning...

My HSG and DP's SA was 4 years ago, do you think they'll want to repeat them?

I had a baby boy by IVF in December 2010. Had actually been told I couldn't have IVF on the NHS because of my age but we appealed and were given one round which was successful. However that was almost a year after the clomid. I took clomid for six months and did get pregnant but miscarried in June 2009.

My diagnosis was 'unexplained infertility' but I always blamed my age. We'd been trying since I was 37. In hindsight though I really do believe I had other problems that weren't properly diagnosed.

Thanks Dueling, glad to know there was a happy outcome. I wouldn't expect IVF either at my age or because we already have a child.

Not really sure what the options might be.

I am not normally into woo type therapies but have you tried acupuncture? I am convinced it helped me, if only because I felt less stressed in general. Though I hated it when people told me to relax.

If you can't have IVF maybe clomid would be worth a try.
