Help please - cycle related

Potted history - on depo for 7ish years. Last jab due 6th Dec, didn't have it. First proper period arrived last Thursday - lightly. Properly by Friday. Gone by late Monday. Assuming (i know it may be unlikely) that i start being regular (used to be 28 - 30 days) when approx would i ovulate? Never had to think about this stuff before!

On an average 28-30 day cycle ov would generally be around cycle day 14-16. They say that ov normally occurs around 14 days before the start of your next period. This really is just a guide though and many people ov much earlier or much later.

I used ovulation prediction kits to check mine. You can get lots of cheap ones off amazon (20 for around £3.50) that ive found as accurate as the more expensive ones.

Thank you for your reply. So 14 days before my next period would be 14 - 16 days after the start of my last one? (sorry - feel rather ignorant of the workings of my own body!!)

But yeah the idea is if you base it on a 28 day cycle, ov would be around 14 days after your last period started. If its a 30 day cycle ov would be around 16 days after period started. On a 32 day cycle ov would be around cd18 days after period. And so on.

The great thing with our bodies though is that we dont know how long our cycle is going to be. And sometimes there isnt always 14 days between ov and the next period.

Ive had 2 different cycle lengths so far (2 at 27 days and 1 at 29 days) but have always ov 14 days after period started. So you might notice a pattern after a few months if your cycles are pretty regular.

Its best if possible to have sex every 2-3 days throughout the month and then there will always be little swimmers there ready for when ever you do ov. Or do the opk's and that gives a bit of warning before ov.
