Strange period! TTC

I came off the pill earlier on in the year after being on it for 10 years and since then, my periods have been quite irregular. My first period took 35 days to return, my next came after 40 days and I was waiting a while for this one too.

Last Saturday (6th) I started spotting. I carried on spotting throughout the week and it ranged from being brown to dark red. In the past 24 hours I have had quite a heavy period with cramping but the period seems to be mixed in with stretchy cervical mucus. Is it something to worry about or is it just my lining shedding?!!

I am desperate for my periods to return to normal so I can start TTC. I went to my doctors last week who did some blood tests (LH, FSH etc) but I'm waiting for the results to come back.

I am really worried that I am not ovulating and I'm not going to be able to get pregnant when we start TTC next month.

It can take a while for your body to go back to normal after the pill. I think the fact you are having your periods is good. It doesn't guarantee you're ovulating, but its better than not getting any periods at all.

The tests your GP is doing, will they measure if you ov? You could also try taking your temperature. Although it can't tell for sure if you ov either, it could give you an indication when ov is happening.

Try not to worry too much, even though that's difficult, but most women go back to normal even though it might take 6-12 months.

No, he didn't do the 21 day test due to my cycle being irregular.

Just a bit concerned about having CM in my period right now to be honest. That doesn't seem normal to me.
