Hi

I have a very well behaved period :) it is a 28 day cycle and while over the course of the year there are some minor deviations (e.g. 27 days, 29 days) the norm is 28 days. It isn't a heavy flow; first day is the heaviest by far.

I came on my period on the 14th June. This is slightly confusing because it appeared but about an hour before midnight. I decided to use June 14th as the first day nonetheless and worked out ovulation accordingly.

Sex on June 24th, a little too early but due to circumstances had to happen, still was in with a chance. Assumed I was not pregnant, took a test just in case - BFN. Started making plans for TTC this month.

Then my period didn't turn up yesterday and my hopes were raised, then dashed a bit today at 11 am when I went to the loo, wiped myself (sorry) and there was a bit of brown gunky discharge, it was the start of AF I thought. Bit disappointed but never mind.

Bear in mind that was at 11 am and it's now nearly 9, I have barely produced a spot of blood all day. Small amount when I wipe after the loo - very small amount mixed in with discharge, sometimes brown and sometimes red. My underwear is fresh.

I'm confused and upset, I just took another test but BFN still.

It surely can't be IB, three weeks later, and on the very same DAY my period arrives? I really don't think I am pregnant. but I don't understand why I'm not just getting my period as normal.

I have never had anything like this before - I bleed, then I stop? Tiny bit of brown dischargey stuff at the very end of a period but never at the beginning?

Any experience or help? I'm going a bit mad here x

Implantation bleeding can turn up around the time your period is due. Implantation is a process that starts about 7 days after ovulation and while not everyone gets a bleed, some women report brown spotting about the time their period would come. Some mistake it for a period and assume they are not pregnant. What you are reporting is what I had with my 2 successful pregnancies.
I'd try another test and make sure it is your most concentrated urine. on the other hand tt could also be a weird cycle.
Good luck!!

Thank you so much!

Surely though for implantation bleeding three weeks later is unrealistic - trying not to get my hopes up!

Just to update, unfortunately AF arrived properly about 10 hours after the discharge did. Hoping to get a BFP in August! :)
