Hi Snoozy. From what I know it more important what TYPE of CM you have, rather than volume.
I have just googled and found this explanation of the different types.

What Are the Different Types of Cervical Mucus?
There are 3 main types of cervical mucus, however some women may notice more. When you check your cervical mucus you should observe the:
Colour
Consistency
How stretchy it is
Type 1: Just after your period has finished, you will probably detect only a very small amount of cervical mucus or none at all. Your vagina may feel quite dry and any mucus present will not be very stretchy.
Type 2: Slightly further into your menstrual cycle, you should notice a slight increase in the quantity of cervical mucus. It will probably feel a bit sticky in texture and will probably be white or cream in colour. If you stretch it between your index finger and thumb you will find that it breaks very easily.
Type 3: As you approach ovulation, your cervical mucus will become slippery, thin, and stretchy like raw egg white. You should be able to stretch it between your fingers for several inches before breaking.
After ovulation you will find that your cervical mucus will revert to type 2
Dry or Slightly Moist – At this time you are most likely Infertile. This time will start after menses has ended until approximately 4 days later. You will have a dry feeling.
Sticky – At this time you are most likely Infertile. At this time your CM may be sticky for approximately 3 days. It may feel gummy, sticky or crumble when you rub it between your fingers. You will still have a dry feeling.
Creamy – At this time you are most likely Fertile. You may notice a creamy, milky, lotiony, whitish or slightly yellow abundant amount of CM. You will have a wet sensation.
Egg White – At this time you are most likely Very Fertile. This is the most fertile time of the month for women. It usually lasts about 2 days but can be anywhere from 1 to 5 days. This Cervical Mucus will look similar to raw egg whites. It will be slippery and clear or opalescent. It will generally stretch anywhere from 1 to 10 inches. You will feel very wet. It is sometimes easy to mix up egg white CM with seminal fluid or with arousal fluid. To determine, the egg white CM will not dissolve if you place it in a cup of water while seminal fluid or arousal fluid will. The egg white CM will usually form a ball and sink to the bottom. Also, the egg white CM does not dry up quickly whereas the seminal fluid or arousal fluid will dry up quickly when rubbed between your fingers.
Dry, Slightly Moist, or Sticky – At this time you are most likely Infertile. Because of the quick change in hormones after ovulation, you will quickly go from having the egg white CM and wet feeling to being rather dry, slightly moist or sticky.
Egg white cervical mucus
So-called egg white cervical mucus is the most fertile of all CM types because it allows the sperm to swim easily into the cervix. Its consistency is similar to raw egg whites and it can stretch an inch or two without breaking in the middle.
Watery cervical mucus
Watery CM is second best for conception, after egg white CM. It allows sperm to move unhindered into the cervix, but doesn't make the sperm's job quite as easy. When you have watery CM, you may feel as though you've leaked urine in your underwear. Watery CM is clear in color and drips or runs off your fingers.
Creamy cervical mucus
Creamy CM is considered non-fertile because it greatly restricts the movement of sperm. Creamy CM can be a pearly white or creamy yellow. It's thick and feels like lotion when rubbed between the fingers
Sticky cervical mucus
Sticky or tacky CM is the least fertile. It's thick and chunky and feels kind of like paste or like glue from a glue stick, making it hard for sperm to swim through.
