I've manipulated my stats and said its only cycle 3.. Not totally true however this WILL be our 3rd cycle of ttc using digital OPKs and they are literally the only way of me telling when I ovulate!

the couple of previous months before using opks were a total waste of time because we dtd at the completely wrong time!

My cycles still haven't really become regular since coming off the pill so I know now that I NEED to use OPKs.

So lets call it cycle 3 for now!

gillywillywoo · 24/07/2013 20:52

DH knows that this month we will be trying to do SMEP (although its tricky because sometimes I haven't even ovulated until cd25) so we will probably just dtd as much as we want/can be bothered to do and then when I get my positive OPK we will dtd 3-4 days in a row. Lets see how this goes...

Dizzydaisylou · 24/07/2013 22:33

So I did my first dipstick ov test today - negative. Now I'm worrying I've missed it!im on cd21 and my cycles can range from 31 days (v early) to 46 days. Normally about 40.what do you all think?i only have 7 tests for this month so need to use them sparingly!would u use them for next 6 days?

ChubbyKitty · 25/07/2013 01:04
Hmm

I was mistaken this morning.

Tea1Sugar · 25/07/2013 05:48

Morning all! Can someone reassure me that my body isn't completely messed up please?! This is cycle 2 off pill, period came back after 25 days. Cd1-5 period, cd 6 started testing due to the short cycle with a dual hormone cb digi - negative. Cd 7 and 8 (today is cd8) flashers! We dtd last night but this all just seems WAY too earlyShock. Someone said on another thread that you can get several flashers before fixed but if by any miracle I get the textbook 2 days followed by peak I'd only be ovulating day 10/11 which has got to be too early!? Disclosure - new to this, dd was a pill baby!! Grin

marie456 · 25/07/2013 07:46

Tea it doesn't matter how soon after af that you ovulate, its the time after ovulation to af that matters I.e. your luteal phase. As long as that's about 11/12 days plus then that's good. Some women have to do the business while still on af when TTC due to short cycles!

DisneyDiva87 · 25/07/2013 08:28

I'll still hang about for the month but I can't promise that I'll tell you to wise up with your itchy elbows and all that imaginary I'll most likely be sitting in the corner yelling "POAS NOW!!"

Good luck to all you lovely ladies, I'll dance around spreading my share of baby dust since it's too late for me!

FoxMulder · 25/07/2013 09:17

Thanks Marie it was a relief. 6 weeks today, or 6 weeks since the mc. I'm frightened the midwife will tell me off because I was told to wait until I had a normal period before trying again.

Anyway, sorry, this is not the thread for talk such as this!

DisneyDiva87 · 25/07/2013 11:10

Ah let her tell you off Fox that's the worst she can do!

Plus your pregnant and that totally tumps naggy midwives so you win Grin

Tea I get a 21-29 cycle which means I get ewcm and a smiley on cd5 sometimes. It feels v early but I know when it happens it just means a short cycle.

PurpleGeekyGirl · 25/07/2013 15:01

Jelly I've used ic ov sticks and a cb digi and the ic have never given me a +ve but the cb has. I think they're rubbish personally and v hard to read compared with ic pg tests or the cb ov ones!

JellyBeanDavey · 25/07/2013 15:52

HmmI have tons of the ic haha I think I may have that same prob then. I have never got a positive opk since the start of ttc. I have some cb ones thanks to taking :) as for my cycles lately, I don't know when the next is coming. Hmmm

Ninunina · 25/07/2013 16:05

fox my midwifes and doctors didnt even bat an eye lid when I got pregnant straight after my mc. They will just arrange for a dating scan to be done.
I'm feeling like it's Xmas. .. hubby just came back from the UK with a few goodies I can't find here including 4 twin packs of superdrug pregnancy tests (from past experience these are as good as First response). I'm going to be POAS very happily with so many tests Grin

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 25/07/2013 16:09

I haven't succumbed to the opks yet...I can be rather obsessive so the less things I can pee on the better.
I am impatiently awaiting the arrival AF at the moment so I can get started properly this month - she's due tomorrow. We have sort of farted about half-heartedly the last 2 cycles so now we are ready for aggressive bedroom action!

I would never admit this in RL but... I can't be bothered with all the sex!!
I like sleeping too much!

FoxMulder · 25/07/2013 16:13

I hope so, they were just so overdramatic at the time saying 'your body's been through a big shock' when I felt fine. One midwife even told me (when pushed - and she didn't sound entirely convinced of her answer) that I would be more likely to mc again if I got preg straight away, but I checked with the miscarriage association and that is utter bollocks.

I'm pretty confident with my dates, I ov'd 2 weeks after I started bleeding and got a positive test 2 weeks after that, but I wouldn't say no to an early scan!

Have fun with the tests! Grin

ImaginaryHat · 25/07/2013 19:07

Anyone at the symptom spotting stage yet?

If not, I'll start us off. I've been absolutely exhausted today, to the point of hardly being able to keep my eyes open at my desk.

I am 2-3dpo Grin

Paully06 · 25/07/2013 19:31

Ladies has anybody used soft cups? Research them online, I'm using them at the moment, fingers crossed xxx

marie456 · 25/07/2013 20:12

I was advised that too Fox but miscarriage association says otherwise so we're going for it this month too. Am made up this evening as got a smiley on clearblue digital opk 17 days after miscarriage. I usually ovulate day 17 so seems back on track. Will take my temp tomorrow to be sure. That means I can do my stats properly if bus conductor Disney doesnt mind sorting it?!

Marie456 ttc#1 cycle 9 bfp due 3rd August

Sorry Pauly what are soft cups?

Paully06 · 25/07/2013 20:23

Hey Marie, they are used typically for periods, the look like a femidom, circular plastic ring with a thin plastic cup underneath. After DTD you insert the soft cup inside you (as soon as hubby has done the deed) and the seman won't leak out. You can't feel the soft cup once it is inside at all. My friend told me about them, I was dubious at first, ordered some and have used them and they are comfortable. they can stay in up to 8 hours post intercourse, keeping the little swimmers inside you rather than them leaking out. they may or may not work but it's def worth a try in my eyes :) good luck this month x

Hendricks · 25/07/2013 20:55

I'm trying not to symptom spot imginaryhat. This will probably change at the start of next week as that's when I expect I'll be ov....

Sorry to hear you're out already DisneyDiva - hope next month is your month.

Good luck everyone

Lavenderspink · 25/07/2013 22:11

I have really been trying not to symptom spot, but like you Imaginary I am so exhausted, yawning embarrassingly in meetings and dropped a plate and a bowl this evening, both smashed and oh said 'is that your pregnancy hormones making you drop stuff?' - no no no don't curse it!!

I'm 6dpo ... Trying to remember when we dtd now ... It's tricky cos some nights we just gave up, smeping is hard work! Trying to write it in code on the calendar in the kitchen so that MIL doesn't read it when she's next noseying around !

Lavenderspink · 25/07/2013 22:18

babyfaced - I used the clear blue opks for the first time this month and loved them, felt a lot more in control, and my ovulation pains are quite strong anyway so I think it was correct ... Means that we haven't spent all month just randomly dtd every other day, which is too much pressure! I got a uti just dtd a few times this month! xxx

Vikkijayne2507 · 25/07/2013 22:22

Hey imaginary I am 6 dpo. Have a cold I developed a day ago dont think thats linked. have been very tired but cant sleep well, had some odd cramping this morning but went away. Im abroad at the moment have a load of ic preg tests and 1 clearblue digi prg test. have not succumbed to POAS yet am holding out but when I do will use ic with fmu i think. We dtd four times in 5 days over the ov period 3 and 2 days b4 ov and then ov day and day after so hopefully i covered most bases.
