3 days late but negative test - any advice?

Just need a bit advice from anyone please... last month I was spotting from about the 24th April until 5th May when it was full on flooding for 7 days, so I haver taken my first day as being the 5th May, so in theory I should have had AF on friday just gone - but nothing, done test but negative - don't feel any different (which I didn't when I was pregnant with other 2 DS), didn't think had had enough with DH to fall this month would be nice as want a third but why would it show neg....

Were you regular before this? If you were irregular, you may not have ovulated mid-cycle so may not be far enough on to have a positive test. When did you, er, do the deed, as it were (BD)? Best advice is to wait a bit, and if still no AF, test again. My first test with ds was negative, then positive 5 days later. I'm pg now, and had 3 negative tests over the course of a week or so, waited 2 or 3 weeks and re-tested, got a faint pos then a BFP. Oh, and some tests are more sensitive than others - which sort are you using? HTH!

DH works away all week, think we managed it 20th and then I think on the 27th/28th!! used to be regular 28 days but last month was about 34 days and month b4 that was only 21?! so I guess likely that this one will be a 34/35 day cycle again so should be due end this week?

No worries. I found the predictor test was the least sensitive. First response and clear blue more reliable. Wait until the end of the week and test again?? (then immediately log onto MN and let us know ) Hope you get the result you want xx

Wait until the day that your longest cycle would have been so for you day 35. Test then to avoid disappointment :)

actually I'd go further than that and say wait until a week after the longest cycle before testing. I had a nightmare last month and even though doctors thought I was pg, I got nothing but bfn's, and AF didn't arrive until 5 weeks after it was due.

hi i'm on the same boat. I am 3 days late and on my 4th hpt and all negatives. Have been feeling alot of symptoms for about a week now sore breast, reflux, gassy, bloated, a few pounds weight gain, tired, moody, annoyed, and get irritated really easy which is not like me at all. Went to the doctor's office today to do a blood test. Please let me know how you make out.

I am in same boat at the mo. On a normal 35 day cycle but so far up day46 still no AF. Have been doing poas tests since day 35 negative. i have just done one again this afternoon got a faint line. Then looked again when we dried and defo 2 lines so maybe it was too early before. Going to test agin in morning though to double check.

I tested when about 3 days overdue and got negatives. About 10 days later was cleaning out bathroom and saw test and looked at it. I thought 'theres a faint line there' which prompted me to go an buy a clear blue which came up immediately. The first tests were asdas own.

just here to keep u posted i got the results from the blood test and it was a NEGATIVE. ALthough i'm not discouraged i just want to know. I gave this gut feeling and have had it for about 2 weeks. The doctor told me to go in again next week hopefully it will be positive by then.

jbenev5338 you should ask your gp to do a thyroid test. over/underactive thyroid can affect your periods, and it's generally something the doctors test for in the event a pg test is negative. You're lucky you got a blood test for pg - our hospital don't do blood tests for pregnancy. Def worth getting your thyroid checked though as some of the simptoms of overactive thyroid can be similaar to those of pg - nausia, fatigue, short-temperedness etc. I had an overactive thyroid 12 years ago and didn't have a period for 9 months.

well still no af - desperate to go and buy a hpt but am not going to do it - will wait until FRiday then thats a week late!!.... ellen23 did you find out for definite?

Yes done another 4 tests all positive.!!! Cant believe it. No sickness just dizzy been to dr's this morning and he has put me on the sick for 2 weeks blood pressure really high hence the dizzy & headache.

well tested this morning and -tive... so still none the wiser! Will just take it that I am not this month and go out with my girlfriends as planned tonight for several drinks!!

Sorry to hear it, minxi. But when I had lots of negatives, someone posted to say if you might be pregnant then you should act pregnant (I'd posted about drowning my sorrows in a G&T ), and turns out she was right...

thanks 2happy, did go out last night and drank too many wines - feel very heady today and not too great!!! Still no af and actually boobs feeling slightly sore?! Should I wait another week - did use boots own hpt should I have bought the digital cb !?

i don't understand how u think ur late when u have no reg cycle anyway? Sometimes stress canmake u late so i would stop buying trsts and wait a week or 2 by just getting on with ur life.

I'm even more confused i was late for 5 days and then started bleeding but no symptoms of AF and it is very weird and irregular bleeding (dark but not as much as a regular period). Still have pregnancy syptoms like breast fullness, indigestion, nausea big time (everyday at different times of the day especially during my regular eating times) oily face, breaking out and extremely tired. wannabe1974 i had a thyroid test done about one month ago at my doctor too so i don't think it was that. I have no idea what to think. I began to have some cramping last night in my right side. What should i think? Can it be implantation or what else could it be?
