Winner gets a banana

6 June: LMP (cd1)
19 June (cd 14): +opk pm of but missing fertility signs before hand. I usually have them for up to 6 days then ovulate.
Backache and ovulation cramps start 19/20 July but v brief
Cm increases from around then and continues on and off throughout
25-27 June (cd 20-22)left ovary pain and cramps
27 June - 3 July (cd 22-28): cramps cnt culminating in killer cramps and backache on 3 July, accompanied by insane temper tantrums

All is now calm (cd 32) Although my temp is raised, as it would be post ovulation

Last took negative hpt on cd 28.

If it weren't for the +opk I'd be quite relaxed about having ovulated late with weird cramping but that's bloomin confused me. Anyone had experiences of +opk without ovulating?

I don't temp but always feel temp raises and falls. I'm hotter today than I have been since last period.

Did your temps confirm ovulation had happened on cd 15? A positive opk alone doesn't mean ovulation will definitely happen.

I would wait a couple of days and do.another hpt.

Were you using the Clear Blue tests with both high and peak fertility? If so, you can have high fertility and not actually ovulate, but you can't have peak fertility without ovulating.

Sounds like your body geared itself up to ovulation but did not for some reason. Temp also can rise in the second half of the cycle when an egg has not been shed, charting itself is not infallible.

willitbe · 07/07/2013 12:12

Attila - I have seen you write a few times about temp rise in second half of cycle as not being indicative of ovulation. Can you point me towards the literature regarding this. I would appreciate reading about it. Thank you.

OP - you could have ovulated late, I am in a similar situation at the moment (although I don't use opk's as they are no use to me) I even had a scan saying I was about to ovulate after I would have thought I might have done this month, and now totally unable to determine when my period might turn up. I think I am having an annovulatory cycle, it could be the same for you. I hope we get AF or positive test for you, appear soon.

This month I had a +ve opk on cd12 but did not ov until cd18 so they are not always very reliable.

I am not sure if the book is still in print but Dr Robert Winston wrote a very good book called "Infertility" a few years ago. He writes about temp charting and that is where that reference comes from.

Thanks for help. I used the smiley opk to avoid the questioning.

I'm irritated as I had pcos in my teens and 20s. Went over a year without periods. Blah blah. Then it corrected itself during my late 20s and early 30s. But since I had my second child everything seems to have gone back.

I shall wait until im cd 35 before getting really cross.

Again, thank you for help. You're all very knowledgeable and its helpful to bash this stuff around a bit. I'd hate to just bore one person wi it all ;)
