Amazon Cheapy OPKs

I've started TTC this month and I've had EWCM for the last few days but it seams to be easing off a bit now. I tested according to the instructions every day more than once and have never got more than a very faint line that the test classed as a -ve. Is it possible to miss the LH spike if you tested say at 10:30 and then again at 6? Also could the tests not be working cause I'm drinking more in the heat? I'm so confused!

Anyone got any ideas?

I bought some amazon cheapies but not started to use them yet, I think youre supposed to test first pee in the mornings when levels will highest? also levels should stay up for a couple if days?

I think some women don't get a clear second line with these opks, but that doesn't mean you didn't ovulate! Perhaps your cm is more accurate for you or you could try the more expensive clear blue ones, which I think are more sensitive.

The cheap ones you're not supposed to use with first morning urine, pizza queen, as it might give you a false positive (lh can build up overnight). And levels can go own within a day, they don't usually stay high for multiple days.

As far as I know you don't use first morning urine with ovulation tests and will get better results in the late afternoon around the same time each day. I got pregnant my first month using them and I had the amazon cheap ones. I also thought I'd not ovulated or missed it then it turned out I didn't ovulate until cycle day 17 so I'd been trying on the wrong days! No wonderI ddidn't get pregnant before.

Good luck with ttc xx

I used amazon cheapies and also charted my temp to indicate ovulation - both said the same thing, so I think the OPKs are pretty good.

I did tend to do them at lunchtime though before I'd had a drink and did get a strong positive the day before ovulation.

do you do them at work if you need to test in middle of the day?

I leave at 7:30am and get home 6pm, cant imagine being able to do them at work.

Drinking more with the heat may be the problem - you shouldn't use FMU with them however you should use them when you've not been for a wee for a few hours (4 hours rings a bell but I may have dreamed that) so if you are drinking a lot and weeing a lot then you won't get a strong result.

I've always had 2 days with a strong positive before it fades again, so for me I wouldn't miss it however I don't know if that's applicable to everyone :)

When you're at work, its just a slightly longer than usual toilet break isn't it?

I take my handbag in with me, have a small plastic urine sample pot to pee in and dip the stick, rinse it out in the sink and if I need to get back to my desk, put the stick back in the wrapper while it develops and make sure its horizontal in my handbag. Then just sneak a peek at it 10mins later.
