First month ttc, no smiley still What is a "normal" time scale to get a positive opk?

14 days before af due so as my cycle is 32 days I normally get a smiley on day 18-19

Ovulation on CD14 is just an average guideline it can happen a couple of days earlier or a fair bit later. Best bet is to get a bulk of the super cheap OPK sticks and wee on them every day from about CD10. Oh, and it can vary wildly from cycle to cycle too. I found this out over the course of 18 months TTC.

I ov alternately on days 14 and 16 and very quickly after the positive OPK, so I wouldn't expect to see a positive until day 13 or 15 depending on the month.

This is kindly meant, but you really need to relax a bit. You haven't even been ttc a month yet, haven't reached ovulation and already seem to be stressing! You will wind yourself up in knots if you carry on like this.

I know euro I don't want to turn into a nutjob! Due to other reasons I need lube for sex so jumped straight month onto pre seed as others can be damaging to sperm apparently. And I have begun opk as I haven't had a natural period in 10 years as dd was a pill baby so noooo idea what a real cycle is like!

Re did a test this evening (nutjob) and I've got a smiley!!! Dtd last night, so help me mumsnetters, again for the next few days?!!

Rather than relying on OPKs so much this early on, you are better off just having sex every other day through your cycle. That will give you the best chance of getting pregnant.

I wholeheartedly agree with Frank. Just have sex. Forget about the science. Enjoy it. Use these things if you feel like you need some help in a few months.

I didn't get mine til cd25 this month.. My cycles are still a bit crazy and long since coming off the pill.
