How long should you be TTC DC2 before seeking help? It has been 18 months now and I fell pregnant on 2nd cycle with DS (age 3)

I have had several health issues since having DS, I had recurrent UTIs throughout the pregnancy and have a long history of kidney stones (pre DS), this has continued after having him and I have twice had to have operations to remove them.

I spoke to my practice nurse a few months ago during an appt for something else and she kind of brushed me off...probably stress etc etc, which is all well and good but what if it isn't?

Would a GP take me seriously and what should I be saying?

I feel I get brushed off by doctors unless I don't know specifically what I want to achieve, if I can focus on what I need to say before I go, I think I'll achieve it better IYSWIM.

I am 32, DH is 29 (if that's relevant).

I think I'd go to the GP and tell him you want a general health check as you want to conceive.He/she won't brush you off.

Best of luck.

Id go back and see a different doctor. Some will look into it after a year of ttc so you are well over that now. They should do your bloods to check hormones over a couple of days in the month, and possibly suggest analysis for dh little swimmers. Maybe ask for these and sound confident and you will sound like you know what you are talking about and do a bit of research
