nobeer · 11/07/2013 09:46

Fish Grin lovely news!

nobeer · 11/07/2013 09:48

Wifey I'm done EC, got 14 embryos frozen. Had OHSS so now waiting for AF to see if ovaries have gone back to normal. If they have it'll be FET soon!

nobeer · 11/07/2013 09:48

*I've not I'm done. I do know my grammar, honest.

nobeer · 11/07/2013 09:54

Wifey My favourite risotto is leek and cheese. I kind of know it off by heart now and haven't got it on paper. The secret is fry the finely chopped onion and leeks, then add rice for a couple of mins until it starts to go a bit translucent, then add a glass of white wine! That's the important bit. When the rice has absorbed the wine slowly add chicken stock. Don't make it in summer, because you have to stir over a hot stove. When the rice has absorbed all the stock (I usually use just under a litre) turn of the heat and put on a lid. I sometimes add a bit of chopped tomato for colour. The heat of the rice will cook it. I add either grated parmesan, cheddar, or gruyere or a mixture of whatever is in the fridge!

nobeer what were the OHSS symptoms? And 14 frosties is a great number! A football team with subs. Grin fi gers crossed for a swift AF.

Expat I love risotto! Usually mushroom and corn with breaded meat (pork or chicken). My recipe is a bit hit and miss, but I used some marscapone with the stock recently and it was scrumtious. I would make it tonight, but have been banned from cookg anything creamy for a while as I overdid it...

respisa your tactics did make me laugh. I take it Dh is still reluctant to try again? From what I remember, I was questioning if he was scared of something in particular. Have you had a definate reason as to why not?

Thank you for the good wishes. Stupidly early days though and so much can go wrong. Sigh.

mejust · 11/07/2013 11:18

Well done fish big congratulation, enjoy being preggo.

For now I'm carrying on taking the metformin and vits as I have clear left tube.got the period from hell.
Left hubby to tell people as I didn't want to.

Hello to everyone

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/07/2013 11:26

So sorry AF is adding insult to injury Mejust. I hope you are feeling stronger soon Thanks

mejust · 11/07/2013 12:07

Thanks maybe,on the plus side I was able to have nice cold beer in the sun.
If its gonna happen it happens not much anyone can do about it but I still have a chance naturally aswell so I'm not gonna keep track of dates and relax just hope the met gets me ovulating.

nobeer · 11/07/2013 12:13

Expat Yes I live in Spain, and the clinic is the city where I live. So no planes, I cycle, metro, taxi or car if DP isn't working away!

Life I think the main symptom was the insane amount of eggs I produced! When I had the initial scan I think there were around 6 follicles and then on EC day they got 22 eggs! I had more scans and blood tests, and the levels of the hormones had rocketed. Basically I responded too well to the treatment. The physical symptoms were I felt very bloated and uncomfortable, and walking I felt every step in my abdomen. From just before EC I had terrible constipation for about a week and couldn't even fart! Some genius on here (who I really owe a large Wine ) told me to drink bicarb of soda with warm water and that really helped.
Feeling much better now and it doesn't hurt when I walk, but still get the odd twinges in my ovary area. I will be double checking with clinic to make sure I don't need a blood test or scan before FET, as I've had conflicting advice. And I don't really want to be suffering with OHSS while pregnant - it sounds horrible.

I just got a little thrill rereading the word pregnant! Fingers crossed for next month!

nobeer · 11/07/2013 12:15

mejust enjoy your beer, you deserve it. And doesn't beer taste nicer in a beer garden in the sun? Take care lovely lady.

MotorcycleMama · 11/07/2013 13:03

Fantastic news fish!! And I am so pleased to have someone (well, you!) in the same boat as I am. Well, I have had the pregnancy confirmed by the clinic, but I still don't really believe it, and Clear Blue and First Response are still making a mint out of me!! Congratulations Flowersx

MotorcycleMama · 11/07/2013 13:06

So pleased you are still with us mejust and although a beer in the sun is only small compensation for what you have been through, it's still beer in the sun!! I imagine it will become clear over time if you want to go for a second cycle - don't rush, just allow yourself to recover. X

BrookerC · 11/07/2013 13:08

fish I was hoping that your absence over the last few days was going to result in good news. A big, massive cautious & gentle hug! X
So much activity on here again today-will catch up later.
resp you made me laugh so much & nomaybe with the congrats-hehe.
Had my 2nd scan today & all going well. Lead follie at 17mm with others at 12-14 (come on you little ones!)
Me 2nd cycle ivf 1st bfn-due for EC early next week.
See ya. Xx

Fish, well done, old girl! Thanks Super news x

Tortie, where are you up to with this scan? Please push for it. Cry and stuff, that always works.

Brooker, well done on the growing.

Mejust, glad you're feeling a little stronger. Take care of yourself.

I've been wiping faint beige stuff each time I go to the loo since yesterday afternoon. Really upsetting after last years mmc at eleven weeks (that was brown, too and everyone said it's nothing and not to worry). EPU said the same and that it's probably implantation. Internet friends say it's pessaries aggravating cervix etc. I'm utterly fed-up, if I'm honest but looking at all the positives: really high beta scores; very nauseous (just reading about your recipes made me sick up); shattered. The euphoria of a BFP lasts all of 24 hours then it's worry, brown smears and weird twinges...

DP can not be released from work despite robust protestations and I'm happy with that. If it is the worst news I want to be alone.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/07/2013 14:19

Oh Juicy. I can only imagine the worry. And I totally understand that no matter what people say, you will assume the worst. But you will simply Not be getting bad news tomorrow. Fact.

Brilliant follie update Brooker

Glad you are feeling better Nobeer.

So pleased the clinic have confirmed Motor. When will your scan be?

mejust · 11/07/2013 14:54

Motor stop worrying your pregnant and save your money from the tests and pamper yourself, your only stress yourself out testing all the time.

Good luck to all on 2ww and everyone else,I'm not up to speed on where everyone is at the moment.

Cooking a roast today I must be mad in this weather, going off out for the day tomorrow haven't decided where yet but had enough of stressing time to have some fun.

resipsa · 11/07/2013 15:42

A roast? Yup, you're mad. Have a lovely day tomorrow!

resipsa · 11/07/2013 15:44

Juicy remember the days when a streak of the stuff filled you with relief that the one night stand wasn't going to become father to be? You've been to MMC land so I say no more but we will ALL be thinking of you at scan time. I'd go alone too, FWIW.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/07/2013 15:45

You're mad Mejust! Though I hope you will be cooling off with more beer in the garden? Smile
