Hello, I am a regular, but I've namechanged for this topic.
I have a 14 month old DD and we're hoping to start TTC DC2 in December. Just wanting to get in as good a shape as possible really before we get started as Dh and I both a bit tired and run down. BMI for both of us is normal.
I am still BFing, so cycles slightly irregular and I also underproduce ewcm, so am hoping that will get sorted too. I temp each morning and it looks as though I am ovulating.
Have been looking through The Baby Making Bible (Emma Cannon) and was intending to follow the recommendations next cycle. Has anyone tried/had success with her?
Would anyone recommend any other pre-conception plan?
I had a few scares and high bp with DD and felt very guilty that my health issues had contributed, so I would like to be in top shape before trying again, just for peace of mind.
Thanks Smile

For me, that just seems too scientific given that you haven't starting trying yet. Why not just try having sex mid cycle and start reading the books if nothing happens after a few months?

Haha, yes, it does sound a bit overcomplicated doesn't it. I am just hoping that if I get my cycle and general health in order, when it comes to December we can just relax and enjoy the SWI.
Quite like the idea of a plan though; helps me focus.
Thanks Capirinhas.

We just picked the month we wanted to conceive and DTD every other day the whole.month.

Worked twice with us, and a damn sight less stressful than temping and using OPKs.

Christ Mortified, I am in awe of your energy! Did it work first time for you?
I've used NFP for contraceptive purposes for ten years, so it's just second nature now and I don't find it too bad. I suppose I'm just really wanting to feel like I'm embarking on a project to 'get healthier' first. Am thinking I will go with Emma Cannon, even if some of it is bit woo for me.

Aye Champagne; it is good to see what's going on with your cycle. Find it really reassuring tbh. I have been using opks each cycle, but struggle to use them around the 2pm window as I always seem to be out or doing something. Thanks for the encouragementSmile
hehe Mortified; I bet he felt super smug; good on you.
I did suggest your technique to DH when he came home from work and asked if anyone had responded to my post. Surprisingly, he seemed quite keenGrin
