Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone can help please. We are TTC #2, dd came along after one night of unprotected sex Blush(on holiday, no condoms, urge took us!) so this is all new to me! Since dd I have been on the pill for about 6 months, came off it at the end of May, had 'af' (or withdrawal bleed) had af 28 days later and again today AF, 28 days again.
My question is, when using the mumsnet ovulation calculater will my luteral phase be 14 days, if not how do you know what it is? I just want to maximise our chances.
I know it's only been 2 months but last time was easy I guess I thought this time would be too.

Thanks in advance

Everyone's luteal phase is different. 14 days is "average". Personally mine has been as short as 12 days and as long as 18!

The only way to know for sure is to chart your temperatures through several cycles and then work out your approximate fertile time from that information.

Thanks for that, I thought you might say that! I think I'll go with average this month and see how we get on! Thanks again

Just presume you're average, but take a few days before and after that as a contingency. So then you can have a week in which you know you'll be most fertile and catch the right moment if you dtd every other day. This way you don't need to monitor anything.

if your trying to work out when you OV maybe worth trying a OV detect kit x

Hi, not sure if it will help but I read a post on another site from a natural fertility expert on how to tell when you are fertile. It was all about recognising your bodies signs leading up to fertility, It was quite interesting and it may help you pinpoint timings a bit better? I seem to remener her also posting about luteal phase too say may be worth dropping her a question. Anyway hope this helps a bit, the link to the post is forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=537 Good luck! let us know how you get on xxx
