How long does Ovidrel stay in your system?

Has anyone had any experience with Ovidrel trigger shots? I am on my first round of Clomid because of irregular periods and was given a trigger shot of Ovidrel 2 weeks ago. I did a First Response test yesterday and got a strong positive and a Boots cheapie which gave me a faint positive. A Boots test on Sunday came up negative. I retested this morning with another Boots test and got a slightly stronger positive but this could be down to the fact that I tested first thing. Not sure when I can tell for sure that the test is picking up genuine hcg and not hcg from the Ovidrel. Any ideas?

I'm also using Ovidrel trigger shots. My understanding is that the HCG fades after about 5 days, so sounds to me like you have your BFP! Congrats Grin

If you are still a bit unsure maybe wait a few more days and test again.

Thanks. The wait is killing me! I am terrified my period is going to start any minute and it's my day off today do I dont even have work to distract me!

It sounds promising. I tested my trigger shot out after IVF and got a BFP at 7dpEC and the faintest hint of a line at 8dpEC. I got a BFP at 12 dpEC (so 14 days after I took the trigger shot).

You got a positive 14 days after shot? Was it a false positive?

Still testing positive 15 days after injection. The line isn't getting any stronger but it isn't getting fainter either. This is really stressful.

No, it was a real positive. Sorry for not being clear.

Thanks for clarification. I'm feeling hopeful again! Last night I had back ache and was convinced I'd have my period by this morning. Just wish I knew one way or the other now!
