Come and join us elderly TTCers on the Sofa of Pity (SoP), Rug of Rage (RoR), the Pouffe of Possibility (PoP) or the Chaise Lounge of Limbo (CLoL) whilst trying to avoid the BubbleBath of Gloom(BoG)!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

Merk why do you do this to yourself Grin

I was feeling sick enough before I heard about another Royal Bloody Baby! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I was in shock today after my boss said he would be planning to take paternity leave at the end of August. I can't believe he's kept this to himself for so long. when I asked how he'd kept it quiet, he said that "he didn't like to shout about that sort of thing". Bless him. I'm really happy for him and his wife and think he'll be a great Dad. I can only imagine that it's taken them a while as they've been married for years and I think she is 41 or 42. Didn't think it was appropriate to probe for details although was dying to ask him loads of questions! There's hope for us all yet. Also he's likely to be much more sympathetic if I end up going down the IVF route though I think he'd have been pretty good with time off etc anyway.

PuppyMummy · 08/07/2013 14:13

I feel like crap! No more sick or poo since this morning which is good but feel bleerrgh Sad Sad

fingers crossed merk

SidneyBristow · 08/07/2013 14:27

Merk where in the US are you? You can't get antibiotics OTC, but any drugstore chain will sell either a powder or a tablet that should take care of the symptoms. If it's just irritation rather than an actual infection, this should be all you need. I think one of the more popular brands is Azo, but they'll be in the "feminine care" section, same as in Boots. Depending on where you are in the US, main drugstore chains would be Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade. Bigger grocery stores should probably have this sort of thing too. If you think it's an actual infection, you could go to a walk-in clinic; not sure of pricing but it'd be the only way to get a prescription for an antibiotic w/o going to the emergency room at a hospital. Fx for you it's just irritation!!

SidneyBristow · 08/07/2013 14:43

Good weekend everyone? Sorry AF showed up for some, spare midnight arrivals are the worst, aren't they Angry especially early!! I get the Portland Hospital ad too. would be fab to have a 6,000GBP birthing suite, but am thinking IVF might tap out my disposal income for the next decade, if it comes to that....Envy

boom soooo excited for you about your new doggie and glad to hear he's settling in well! The rescue group sounds like a dream!

bunny hope your bug is the 24hr kind!

Had the same reaction about additional royal baby. Better them though than an additional Kardashian

GP appt in the a.m. to beg ask in a dignified manner for an HSG in hopes it might blow the cobwebs out of my tubes, if that's the problem, or alternately find out what else we can do, apart from the obvious. Read some IVF clinic website which suggested fertility window for a 28day cycle is potentially CD9-15, and another one that suggested to add 4 days past-O 'just in case,' so my conclusion was, HOW IN THE HELL does ANYONE avoid pregnancy, if it's so flipping easy!! Argh!

SidneyBristow · 08/07/2013 14:45

One last idea Merk, if you're in a larger hotel, you could ask at the desk for a physician referral - would save you a trip to the emergency room for something this straightforward Thanks

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/07/2013 15:14

sidney thank you, have a CVS nearby I think. I'm in NC. Will take a walk there in the morning (it shits at 6pm so won't get there in time tonight)

SidneyBristow · 08/07/2013 15:27

LOL the CVS in my old city never shit; it was open 24 hrs! Grin Might explain the bad attitude of its staff!!
I looooove NC. DH & I vacationed there and if I ever move back to the US, the NC coast will be on my short list.

Boomgoestheweasel · 08/07/2013 15:31

Thanks thunder, merk for the advice. I know women with low progesterone are prescribed it in pregnancy so I presume it won't do any harm, but don't . Tried to phone the clinic but of course I'll now be waiting a week before anyone gets back to me! So now dithering about whether to take it or not, which is ridiculous because the chance of being diffed from a day 30/31 shag is infinitesimal but the law of sod says if I don't check there'll be a boom in the oven getting fried by the progesterone overload

Hi sid I feel I haven't seen you for ages! Hope you get your HSG.

The only problem with this hot weather is that it's brought out all the chavs with their bumps, pushchairs and topless menfolk. How is it possible that every single resident of the nasty estate over the road has had at least three children by the age of 18, while I still can't pop out even one? Angry

gill that's sweet about your boss. If only they could all be like that eh?

puppy hope you feel better soon!

DH has just taken the dogs for a walk to let me get on with dissertation (which is nearly finished WOOP!) - he is a man of the 'short fuse' variety so having a chuckle to myself at the thought of them getting their leads in a tangle Grin

Bunnygirlie · 08/07/2013 19:48

Hey ladies! Anybody here?!?

puppy how you feeling? After my upset tummy last night I've had terrible tummy ache and felt ick all day Sad

sid good luck with gp tomorrow

How was mr booms walk with the boomdogs?

Just chillaxing in the bath, been horrid day, our office is like a sauna Sad

Evening all. Sorry about AF spare and Thanks for everyone else who is suffering with tummy bugs or cystitis. Merk hope you've managed to find some medication and glad to see you haven't given up on the experiments! I've had the lurgy all weekend and still not feeling great - just in time for shag week too Angry. Combined with it being too hot to feel up for DTD, DP deserting me for 5 days from Wednesday and no sign of any EWCM (prob due to having to take anti histamines as couldn't stick the hayfever any longer) I'm not holding out too much hope for this cycle!!
Boom glad the new dog has settled in well, sounds like he's there to stay Smile.

happylass · 08/07/2013 20:00

Sorry Bunny x post! Sorry to hear your still feeling rubbish. The Berries ant a very healthy bunch today it seems!
Good luck with the GP tomorrow Sid. I too have an appointment to demand request the correct tests!
Also just realised the cold medication I've been downing has probably helped dry up my EWCM too . Am going to have to bathe in Conceive Plus tonight grrrrr!

Bunnygirlie · 08/07/2013 20:47

We are a right load a of sick notes lol! happy sick for DTD week, sounds familiar!

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 08/07/2013 21:35

merk doubt you'll get antibiotics but you should be able to get something to change the acidity of your bladder (although they're generally not great). I'd just drink plenty of water, cranberry juice and avoid sex! although you prob got it from shagging too much over shag week

happy what cough medicine did you take? Think I've got some to increase my cm and since I genuinely have a cold for once I don't need to feel like some kind of substance abuser this month! I think I've got bunny's cold grrr

boom give boomdog 1 and 2 a stroke from me Grin

happylass · 08/07/2013 21:41

Been taking Lemsip capsules Blind and guessing if they dry up snot they aren't going to be great for EWCM?? Have tried the Robitussin in the past and think it did improve my EWCM a bit.
I'm blaming Bunny for my cold too! Wink

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/07/2013 21:44

Thanks everyone, cystitis symptoms currently gone so hoping I will be ok. Am trying to work out if I can get amazon to deliver me some extra preg tests whilst I'm here so my experiments are not thwarted by running out!
Hope all you sickly people feel better immediately!

barkingtreefrog · 08/07/2013 22:21

Well, I'm feeling fit and healthy so I'd appreciate it if you'd all keep your distance, ta very much Grin

Although I am sitting here with frozen peas on both knees post running tonight!!

No DP and no dog here for a week, so house feeling very quiet and empty. Didn't dtd before he went away so that's a zero for this month, if I got a BFP this month I'd have problems!! It's quite strange, after 19 cycles of waiting and hoping, this is the first time I already know I'm not getting a bfp and there's no point even thinking about it!! Next cycle though is first cycle on sweeties, and DPs bits should all be good to go.... Cycle 20 could be the one for me!! It would be a proper sod you BFP as well, as it would stop me/us going to DP's best mate's wedding (abroad). Here's hoping...

I'm also joining you on the not-feeling-very-happy about another royal baby in the news - nothing against them just fed up of the news coverage of W&Ks baby, and it hasn't even been born yet!! A whole news article on BBC about them choosing a 'housekeeper' not a nanny!!!

Hope you're all feeling healthier in the morning!!!

BlindKitty · 08/07/2013 22:37

barking well at least their was no scab-shagging this month Wink all systems go next cycle Grin

Right might have to go and take some cough medicine for purely chest mucus reasons!!!

Bunnygirlie · 08/07/2013 22:40

Sorry I shared my germs, please take them all away Grin

Thundercatsarego · 09/07/2013 02:39

I'm awake. Throwing up.

Are you responsible for this too bunny?

Actually I know that it was what I ate for tea but no harm in throwing some blame around. Can food poisoning affect conception do we think?
Sorry to hear everyone else has the lurgy too. bunny should you have even been at work?
boom hope mr boom wasn't made into a one am maypole by the crazy dogs.

happy I'm picturing you emerging from a bath of conceive plus and then sliding right past the bedroom in a big slug trail of goo.

Better try and stop chucking sleep I guess...

CatsCantFlyFast · 09/07/2013 04:03

thunder poor you. How do you know it's food poisoning?

BlindKitty · 09/07/2013 06:36

thunder what did you have for tea? Do you have the trots as well?

PuppyMummy · 09/07/2013 06:40

bunny im feeling better today
not been sick or anything else since yest morning. went to bed early.
Hav managed a slice of toast this morn but had to abandon cos I thought I would be sick again.

its gone down now though. fingers crossed im ok today as I am very busy at work and really dont want another day off.

hope everyone else is feeling better this morn?

Thundercatsarego · 09/07/2013 06:44

I had anchovies in a pasta dish. A few weeks ago exactly the same thing happened to DP- anchovies for tea, feeling dodgy 2 hours later, up all night with the trots and vomiting. So I suspect its the same.

D&V has stopped so now just knackered and dehydrated. Seriously where does all the water come from??? I must have lost 4/5 pints at one point. Unfortunately must go to work today too. Damnit

Glad you're feeling better puppy.

Thundercatsarego · 09/07/2013 07:01

Sorry I take that back- d&V hasn't all stopped Sad

Oh and my message to boom was meant to read 'one man maypole'. Fail.
