DTD on CD 12. Just the once. I usually have between 25 and 28 day cycles. Straight after this I caught the most monumental cold and cough from DH, hence no more shagging. Wink
Now on CD 23. Been having crazy dry mouth (could be from cold just going?), some mad dreams (although less so now), waves of nausea (again, from cold??), absolutely knackered, keep smelling cat piss on and off, despite litter tray not nearby and on and off bloating.
Getting very confused as not sure if these are merely cold symptoms still Confused.
I don't know when I ovulated either. Not actively TTC but not the end of the world either way. Any thoughts please? Anyone else with similar cycles conceive cd 12? Smile

Anyone?! And would having a cold make me less likely to fall pregnant?

Well it only takes once and you DTD in your fertile window... You are just going to have to POAS, a first response might work already?

I don't think a cold would make any difference.

pesopissesmeoff · 14/06/2013 15:31

Yes I shall POAS possibly Monday..think it's a bit early still?
I am sure I heard somewhere that having a cold makes it less likely. And probably would account for me feeling like shite really.

My DP and I DTD once in two months Shock due to various life stresses.

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant, so it's definitely possible!

DP didn't believe me and made me do many tests.

pesopissesmeoff · 14/06/2013 16:34

Oo that's encouraging Grin
Which tests are good for testing a few days before due? Preferably cheap ones!

We also only dtd once the cycle I got pregnant, on my 2nd cycle after stopping birth control. We were both surprised, to say least as we're no spring chickens... I type this with a sleepy 8 wk old in my arms.

As for your symptoms - my early preg symptoms were indistinguishable from pms, other than my boobs being especially sore. Everyone's different, but you'll drive yourself crazy trying to work it out by symptom spotting!

Romann · 14/06/2013 17:27

Ds3 was also conceived from dtd once in a cycle. My pg symptoms are also the same as pms. I recommend you save your pennies and test on day 28 if no AF.

I am not sure if this is the right thread, having only registered a little while ago, and apologise in advance, but I am 46 going on 47 next month, me and my partner had unprotected sex ten days ago, both of us stupidly believing at our age the risk of conceiving were small and I was unlikely to get pregnant at my age, however now I have a metallic taste in my mouth, heartburn and some slight cramping.

My breast dont feel different, but very visible small lumps appeared although I cant really tell if they have been there all the time. I had my last child 13 years ago, and I realise that at my age the chances of getting pregnant are slim. However with my son I knew some how I was pregnant very early on, but I am at odds with having the same feeling now and the slim chances due to my being in my late 40's.
Not sure if any one can advise, but feeling a bit out of sorts. I am not due for my period as yet, but the cramps and metallic taste are something I don't have leading up to my normal menstrual cycles.

ThoraNomiki · 21/06/2013 13:39

Hi Kaglets when would your period be due? If you're not feeling right and AF doesn't turn up definitely take a test.

kalidasa · 21/06/2013 14:03

Well it only takes once! And the other thing is that if you are generally not having sex much or at all (for whatever reason - tired, busy, not very well, stressed etc) and then you find yourself feeling like it as a random one-off you almost certainly "feel like it" because you are about to ovulate. I suspect that's why you hear a lot of these "we only did it once in x months but still conceived" stories. Generally I think if you suddenly feel like it when you don't usually you should assume that you are at that moment highly fertile!

kaglets it's possible you have conceived, though if you have you also have a much higher chance than a younger woman of the pregnancy failing early on. So even if your period turns up, or you wait a week to test and get a negative, you may still be right in thinking that you have conceived, you may just be noticing the very early symptoms of a pregnancy that starts implanting but then doesn't work out.

kaglets66 · 22/06/2013 10:35

Thanks ThoraNomiki, and Kalidasa, for your advice, AF is due to visit next week, if it doesnt show I will wait and take a test. As you say Kalidasa it may result in a failure.
I may be wanting it to be good news and attempting to find symptoms to account for it.
My partner has no children himself, (my son is from my previous relationship,) and we did agree that we would try at some stage, but acknowledged that it would be difficult and unlikely at our ages. And that if this came to nothing all would still be ok.

Irishmammybread · 22/06/2013 19:12

Isn't Halle Berry pregnant at 46?
Just saying...
Let us know how you get on!

kaglets66 · 26/06/2013 10:26

HI Irishmammybread.

Ah yes that's right, she is, :) hopefully the odds will be in my favour as well.

Currently having some bleeding not too heavy like my normal period, but not really light either, so not sure if its implantation or something else, hoping its all ok and just a matter of waiting at the moment to see if it continues, just concerned it might get heavier. But hopefully not.

DevonshireDaisy · 26/06/2013 12:59

My son is 2 and he was conceived by a condom accident followed by the morning after pill so once definitely is enough! I has no symptoms until I was 10 days late and even then I hadn't realised I was late till then.
I have put another thread on here as I'm not certain if I'm pregnant and it is far too early to test but have symptoms and we are ttc....
