off the merina coil no period after 5 weeks

hey new to mn.
just need some advice...had the merina coil removed 5 weeks ago.I've had no bleeding since it was taken out.have done numerous pregnancy tests,all negative.today i had brown discharge (sorry if TMI).just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this and if its normal.

I've read that it can take your body around a year to get back to normal after the mirena coil I'm afraid.

thanks for the reply..its just that i spoke to a nurse from the family planning who sounded surprise that i haven't had any bleeding since having it removed. i just needed some reassurance.

Hi Dixie, mine was removed last week by hysteroscopy, eight days later I am still bleeding but was told by the consultant that your fertility returns to normal very quickly after removal as the hormones 'given off' by Mirena are localised to the womb rather than in your blood stream like the pill and implant.

If you don't have your period/withdrawal bleed within the next week, visit your Dr I've been told they can prescribe soemthign to 'bring on' the withdrawal bleed for you.
