Hi all

I just wondered what you would do in our situation as I'm not too sure..

DH and I are in our late twenties. We actively TTC'd for just over 12 months without success. I charted/used opk's and worked out I have a funny cycle, roughly 22 day follicular phase and 10 day luteal phase... Hmm

After 12-13 months I was all set to make an appointment at the doctor when DH and I hit a rough patch - the stress of TTC was getting to us. Long story short I went back onto the pill for four months to give ourseles a 'break' from trying for a while.

I've now come back off the pill (start of march) and have had one period in that time. Started charting/opk again but my cycle seems to have fallen back into its regular 22 day/10 day pattern.

Question - do I go to the doctor now? Do I fess up that I went back on the pill? Does that set us back to square one in terms of the 'one year of trying' threshold?

I've been trying not to stress over everything but this is effectively cycle 16 with a 4 month break. What would be your next step in my shoes?

Thanks!

If it was me I'd say I've been ttc for over a year and leave it at that. I'm considering going to the doctor and saying that, even though I've only been ttc for 6 mths. I just really want to make sure everything's ok!

What Fox said. Good luck Smile

Have you been to the GP for the pill in the last 12 months? If not I would just saying you've been TTC for a year. If so then just be honest and tell them exactly what you told us. When I went to the GP after 6 months she said she couldn't do anything straight away but to come back in a few months and lie be a bit vague about how long we've been trying. Good luck!

No I didn't go back to the GP for the pill, I had a supply of 4 months in the house, so there's no record.

I was happy to wait the 12 months the first time round on the basis of 'those with the most need should get the care/treatment' type thing but I don't want to wait another 12 months!

Thanks for your replies, I think you are right - will give it another month or two and then make an appointment.
