K well I need some help and input please. I just got the implanon on may 6 (which was the very last day of my period) I can feel it and it seems to be perfectly in place. But after I got it my doctor told me to wait 10 days after to have unprotected and safe sex and well I was not the smartest and didn't wait. But shortly after I think it was a week and a half (so after those 10 days) I had A very light but longer than usual period (it lasted around 2 weeks) it started off spotty for the first 4 days than it got a tiny heavier but never where I had to wear more than a regular tampon, my doctor told me that was normal but it's also normal to have a very light "period" while pregnant (usually for the last time) so I really wanna know could I be pregnant it was been almost a month since my period and I plan on talking a pregnancy test in the morning but thought I would get some input from some people. I have been getting headaches very frequently, peeing more often than normal (but I feel like I haven't been drinking as much as usual), the biggest one to me is today I was having a family dinner and we had foods I used to love but the moment I ate I just wante to puke, it made me sick and it was hard to get any of it down (I did not puke), I also have notice a huge loss in appetite I don't ever really feel hungry (which I normally do regularly) it also feels like my breasts are tender. Is it possible that I am pregnant or is it all in my head?
Also I want to ask if anyone knows of risk of effects to the baby if I am since I have been on a type of BC for the past month?
Sorry if it was tmi

Morning, I don't no anything about the implant but didn't want to leave your post unanswered. I'm sure someone will be along to help soon.

They do sound like pregnancy symptoms but could also be period signs so hard to tell.
Why don't you take the test today rather than tomorrow that way you will know why's what and can stop worrying.

Xx

Well thank you and I haven't taken it yet because it's like 2 a.m. And I heard it's more accurate in the morning when you wake up and since if I was I wouldn't be far along so I want as accurate as possible in case it's harder to detect.

What does poas mean? Sorry I'm new to this just signed up today

Oh thank you well I just did but it came out negative. It would be far enough along to detect right??

When i had my implant my periods went really light and all over the place. I had it in when my baby was 5wk old. With bleeding all the time and it was making me weepy, constant headaches and going dizzy. I kept goin back to the drs as it was making me miserable!! He kept saying it is just settling in and its normal. After 4wks i couldnt take anymore and had it took out....best thing ive ever done. It really didnt agree with me x

Celine6 · 03/06/2013 16:52

It kinda seems to not agree with me either I mean who has a week break off there period and that long... He even told me I might just be someone who spots in between periods and have an actual period. If that's so I don't think I want it or if it's giving me all these side effects. But I'm gonna try it for one more month and see how it treats me. But thank you that was helpful.

If you don't normally spot between periods you don't want something stuck in your arm making you bleed all the time. See how you go and if your not happy make them get it out. Its your body and they have to do it but they will probably try to get you to keep it in. Get ready for a nice scar tho. I have 2 as he couldnt get it out from underneath so got it out at the top and ended up with 2 x 5p sized scars. Rather have the scars than a miserable face tho ha....good luck x

I had implanon for about 6 months. I think it can take up to 6 months for your body to settle after having it put in. I had no periods on it at all but it made my skin really bad, loads of large lumpy under the skin spots and all over my back too which I had never had before even as a teenager!

I was a right moody cow the first couple of weeks I had it in too.

Celine6 · 03/06/2013 18:35

Seriously ahh I don't wanna have trouble getting it out:/ but I also don't wanna have to be miserable for that long I don't know I'll just haw to talk to my husband about what he wants to do. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one going thru this hearing others stories really help, especially with understanding everything with the implanon

If it makes you feel any better mine came out no bother and I only have 2 tiny wee scars, one where it went in, the other where it came out.

I was a bit worked up with nerves before getting it out, I recommend taking someone with you, I did for getting it in and I felt a lot more relaxed cause I had a pal to chat to.
