Anybody else just hit this hideous anniversary - are you as fed up as me?!?

I reached the 1 year mark last month.

it's hard isn't it? I took it.for granted that we would have a baby by this xmas, now Im not even sure whether I will be pregnant by then.

have you looked into getting any help yet?

Bunnygirlie · 22/05/2013 14:39

Hi Trinpy thanks for replying, I have been off the pill since last Feb but we didn't really start trying till June (so docs think we have been trying 16 months). I have had 3 blood tests, 2 which came back low pregesterone, been to see doc today and the latest results say I did ovulate which I guess is a good thing. DH has had 2 lots of jizz tests but one was incomplete and something else wrong with the second so he is due another one soon. I told my docs my new address so now I have to register with another, not looking forward to starting with a new doc. Hopefully new doc will (after getting DHs results) will just refer us to the next step!

Also just hit this anniversary, it sucks.

We're going to the docs next week, we've had ovulation tests done & dh has had sperm analysis Done which all came back ok. So on paper there's no reason why I shouldn't be pregnant. But I'm still not Sad

It's a horrible situation, wishing u lots of luck. X

Christelle2207 · 25/05/2013 21:10

hey, just wanted to say good luck try to keep positive i eventually got pg on cycle 14 which was my 13th month.

Bunnygirlie · 26/05/2013 09:50

Hey raspberry sorry to hear you reached this hideous anniversary too!

Thanks christelle fingers crossed we are in the percentage that get pg before the major investigations begin Smile

Positive stories always welcome christelle

Has anyone had any further tests done? I went to see my GP with Dh and we've decided to go privately to get some more tests done as the NHS won't touch us for 3 years. That would be another 2 years of feeling like a crazy woman. Very glad we've got some savings put by.

Hope everyone's doing ok Smile

MisselthwaiteManor · 30/05/2013 14:45

I just want to say hang in there and don't lose hope. I'm 35 weeks pregnant after 4 years of unprotected sex (not actively 'trying' because it's just too stressful). Nothing for the first two years and then 3 very early miscarriages in the past two years. This one has stuck. It can happen. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Bunnygirlie · 30/05/2013 21:08

Thanks hop will keep hoping and praying for it to happen to me too!

Smile and in the meantime don't torture yourself counting down the months and ticking off milestones. I know how frustrating it can be!

bishboschone · 30/05/2013 21:16

Sorry if this isn't appropriate but have you used ovulation tests and had sex on that actual day ?. I also know of a few people who kept their legs in the air for ten minutes after sex and got pregnant after a while of trying previously . Worth a try? X

Bunnygirlie · 30/05/2013 21:50

Thanks bish but tried OPKs and pillow under hips with no luck so far Sad

bishboschone · 30/05/2013 21:54

Yep, we had our year 'anniversary' last September, still nothing... Trying not to freak out but will head to the Doctors pretty soon I think. We are in our twenties so quite taken aback! We definitely won't be parents before DH hits 30.

Oh well, suppose there's always Wine in the meantime!

Good luck x

chelsbells · 02/06/2013 22:53

So glad to have found this thread! Been off the pill for 2 and a half years... But only trying for 18months, came off early as heard of lots of people saying it takes a while to settle back down. But 18months down the line and still no baby Hmm been to Drs, confirmed I am ovulating which is good, have DH swimmers test this Friday, feeling very nervous. I know that if there's a problem on his part he's going to be so hard on himself and be very upset about it. Just hoping we haven't been DTD enough and that it's nothing to do with abnormalities! But we will wait and see. Hoping for some good news, best of luck to you all too! It'll be our turn soon... Won't it?! Xxx

Bunnygirlie · 03/06/2013 19:07

Ugh horrid isn't it!

If anybody is over 30, we have a very friendly thread called the Elderberry Pavlovas :-) x

Can I join next week?! I hit 30 then .... Wine I always thought I'd have a baby by the time I was 30, maybe even 2, but ill be 30 & not even pregnant.

I just filled in all the forms for the clinic, it was horrible.

Sorry, slightly depressed tonight. So many friends have fallen so easily, and I keep thinking why haven't we?

Hope everyone's doing ok? Good luck chelsbells with the next test. My dh was really nervous, think its a macho thing!!

Bunnygirlie · 04/06/2013 08:22

raspberry I know how you feel about fertile friends, since we have been trying 3 close friends have had babies, one her second, one her first, and last week one had her FOURTH! It's so hard not to be jealous and a teeny it resentful!
