It's time for some more grads!!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months NO instadiffers, must have a special pot)

OP posts:
Gillster · 24/05/2013 07:31

Hope you're feeling much better today barking and that you don 't have to stay in hospital too long.

I made the mistake of looking at the Amazon reviews of OPKs last night. Pretty much every review was "these sticks are amazing, used them once, got smiley face and now I'm pregnant". Massive hurumph!

sconeoclock · 24/05/2013 07:32

gillster I bought internet opks that didn't work for me. 2 days of positives with clear blue opk and nothing but negatives with internet ones on the same days

happylass · 24/05/2013 07:38

Morning Berries. Last day in work for me and all you other teacher berries before a week off Grin
Scone your temp dip is the right time for implantation so FX for you.
My temp went up by a massive 0.5 this morning. Be interesting to see if it stays up now and if AF arrives any later.
Out in town with work tonight though and staying in a hotel room with a colleague. Going to have to be very subtle about taking my temp in the morning!
Have a good day all!

Thundercatsarego · 24/05/2013 07:50

Morning all. I struggled with Internet opks too. I did get some positives but I found them such a faff to do and then interpret. Love the cb digi ones- fmu and no mistaking a smiley face or not.

Am I being daft going cold turkey this cycle?

barking how are you doing lady? It's good you are in good hands now but what a palava you poor thing.

GooseyD · 24/05/2013 07:56

Morning all

So glad you got seen last night Barking, I hope you're well on the way to feeling better now. How are you?

Bunny glad that OH is doing his bit!

Scone I don't know why this should be the case, but my first two or three cycles charting my temps were all over the place. Partly changing thermometer, partly having a sip of water or going to loo an hour before waking again and taking temp and such like (for me has an effect, especially the water - now I always take temp when I first wake and adjust for time if way different), but partly it just seemed to settle down. I also got used to the effect that restless nights or alcohol and other things have on my temps and some mornings I just have to discount the reading.
Having three such weird and apparently annovulatory charts and then all going regular suddenly actually made me wonder whether I was mentally controlling my temps through sheer force of wanting to see ovulation!! - until all blood tests and switching to CBFM instead of OPKS confirmed same pattern. The book I read re charting and fertility also said it normally takes a few months to get decent charts - don't really understand why it should, and it sounds like others here got the hang quicker, but what I'm saying is I really wouldn't worry too much about the random temps until you've done a few cycles. Wow, that explanations was longer than intended!

So, things were calmer in the Goose household yesterday. We decided to wait til next month to take the Clomid as I have been in just such a state physically and emotionally and don't want to start taking drugs that are prone to giving you 'mood swings and depression'! As DP says, if my mood doesn't improve, no amount of pills is going to help us! Smile Also, as GP is adamant we need monitoring at least for first cycle I want to see if she can work her magic and get it funded, otherwise we'll go private if can afford it. For my part too, I just want to see that we make up properly and anyway, not "just" because of meds and ttc. Rubbish timing for worst argument we've had, but on the bright side my LP is so short AF will be round again in a flash Grin.

Waves at Kitty

Gillster · 24/05/2013 07:57

Oh I am getting my smiley faces every month with the CB ones it was more a point of the instadiffers writing all the positive reviews! Grrrrr.

GooseyD · 24/05/2013 08:00

and Gilster, Thunder and Happy! Smile

sconeoclock · 24/05/2013 08:15

Thanks goosey weird temps are probably just normal for me! I take temp as soon as I wake up, time can vary by half an hour but I never wake up in the night to drink or wee but my temps have been a bit all over the place!
Oh well, AF due Wednesday and I'm regular as clockwork so not long to wait. Got a very busy weekend of work to keep me occupied and half term next week usually means we will be busy!

Bunnygirlie · 24/05/2013 08:23

Crikey barking are you ok my lovely?

Bunnygirlie · 24/05/2013 08:25

goose glad things are a tad better in the goosey household :-)

Frogcatcher · 24/05/2013 09:31

barking any news? We're all worried here & thinking of you! Hope you are just catching up on sleep now.

scone my first month temping was crazy but second when I got updiffed looked way more normal & that's when I switched to the BBT thermometer too. I'll post the link to the charts so you can see & other berries can be nosy too as I don't mind!

Oh & even on a pg thread the instadiffers annoy me! There are people on mine who are like 'ooh whoops pg again with no 5' or 'wow my husband just held my hand once I'm so fertile'. These people have no idea what an OPK or BBT is - thank goodness for the elderberry grads!

Frogcatcher · 24/05/2013 10:04

Here's the link scone:

Chart craziness!

MrsB00Mbastic · 24/05/2013 12:35

Barking you poor thing! You must be due some very good karma soon for all this. Hope they've sorted you out and you're feeling a lot better, let us know how you are when you can, we're all thinking of you. Need an icon for [grapes] xxx

Goosey glad things seem calmer. A good decision I think not to pile more stress on top of what you're already dealing with, and hopefully you and your DP will be in a better place next cycle. Maybe your decision will give you both a break from the intensity of ttc so you can work through anything else that's causing friction. xxx

Gillster agree about the reviewers, instadiffers shouldn't be allowed OPKs! Similar to when I went through my phase of trying every supplement under the sun, the Holland and Barrett website had loads of people saying 'ooh, I took Vitex once and now I'm having twins' grrrr! And ditto frog with the pg thread. I think even when I'm updiffed I'll have a hard time dealing with people who didn't struggle and think it's all so easy.

Going to join all you teacher berries on your week off - not half term but I've got a reading week with no imminent uni work and no placement at the hospital - just a couple of shifts at the pub and other than that I'm freeeeeee Grin Grin Grin Didn't manage to have my booze last night (friend was playing in a tennis match and it went on a lot longer than expected) so tonight's the night for Wine hooray! Even the omnipresent bumps seem to have become less obvious (apart from the smug bump-rubber with two other children at the supermarket but I pretended not to see her). On the babymaking front we're still waiting for AF so I can have my hycosy but having heard about poor barking's experience I'm not sure I want it any more Sad

Tallyra · 24/05/2013 14:01

bloody he'll, bumps on GOT? we're a few episodes behind. I'll prepare myself. by the way, my claim to fame is that u lived with the woman who played Ros in halls at uni!

Tallyra · 24/05/2013 14:15

barking, I'm so glad you went to hospital. I can imagine the pain, and it needs sorting. I hope you are ok, let us know?! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gillster · 24/05/2013 15:29

Thundercatsarego · 24/05/2013 15:40

Thundercatsarego · 24/05/2013 16:11

How's everyone else doing today? We're nearly there! (Wineo'clock of course)

I for one am knackered and wished I had a week off next week but will definitely make do with a long weekend for starters. I shall be mostly lazing about and limbering up for shag fortnight....

Frogcatcher · 24/05/2013 16:23

I'm constantly checking too & I'm only supposed to lurk now! I'm thinking barking may have run out of mobile battery rather than be deliberately keeping us in suspense. Fx and Chocolate

Tallyra · 24/05/2013 16:33

I've just been given a bottle of Wine as a thanks from a teacher for printing work that was called up for moderation. I'm really flattered but teetotal so a bit annoyed. anyone want it? dh will probably drink it tonight though.
