could lighter periods stop me getting pg?

Hi sorry if this sounds odd. I fell pg with ds1 straight away and my periods used to be very short but heavy in that time.
Since having ds they last 36 hours maximum and are barely there. Been ttc for a year with no joy and wondered could this change be the cause?

Hi Memphis did you have any complications following the birth of your DS such as a retained placenta or have you had a D & C at all? Lighter periods can be caused by ashermans syndrome which can also cause infertility. Might be worth looking into? Best of luck x

Thank you so much for replying. I didn't have a retained placenta. I hemmoraged (sp?) so didn't have the bleed which people normally have and then due to having forceps I had to have a lot of stitches and I was so swollen I needed a catether for 4 days after.
I have a doctors appointment next week. I have used opk's and the Clearblue monitor and only shown ovulation once in 6 months.

I have a similar thing in that my periods are a lot lighter than they used to be - they seemed to change in my early 30s. However I have been pregnant twice since that time (once successfully with DD1 and once with a mmc).

So I don't think light periods on their own are necessarily a bar to you getting pregnant. However it did take me a long time to get pregnant with each pregnancy (co-incidentally about a year each time)

I'm TTC again now and it is frustrating, possibly even more so for you if you got preg straight away last time. I'm going to see GP myself on Weds as I've been spotting before period (also for ages) and someone suggested perhaps there was an issue with low progesterone.

Anyway fingers crossed for us both and hope the doctors take us seriously.

Hope the doctors listen to you. So frustraing, I fear I am going crazy looking online for answers all the time, opk's and now getting dp to have conception vitamins.

I know that feeling and I have all the vitamins going too. I even started eating more beef and cheese this cycle because I'd read it helps progesterone levels (it might but I haven't noticed yet). There's quite a few threads on here about TTC, so you'll see we're not the only ones.

Right now I'm feeling like it's never going to happen and I've decided I'm going to sort our spare room (which was supposed to be new baby room) into an office in a superstituous reverse psychology type of way. (I am officially nuts).
