cod · 15/05/2006 11:02

OP posts:
Twiglett · 15/05/2006 11:03

no its aimed at understanding your cycles and what different signs mean .. I learnt a thing or 2 about my own body from it .. signs I'd never understood before and thought were signs of infection were actually the body's way of telling me I was due to ovulate .. bizarre it had never been taught

I bought it before I knew I had problems with conceiving no. 2

Piffle · 15/05/2006 11:03

no not at all cod its about understnading your cycles and pinpointing potential problems
It has been a godsend to me and I have had 2 kids and it has taught me lots.
Honestly a really top book for information. for avoiding and ttc....

cod · 15/05/2006 11:04

I have 'Fertility' by Clubb & Knight. but it is out of print now so she would have to look at 2nd hand.
They have a good website too, which will tell her lots \link{http://www.fertilityuk.org\here}
but generally the Toni Weschler book is recommended lots on here and the zita west one 'Guide to Getting Pregnant: The Complete Programme from the Renowned Fertility Expert' also pops up now and again

arfy · 15/05/2006 11:09

the Toni Weschler is interesting anyway and not just if you think you're infertile

I honestly think teenagers should learn a lot of the stuff in it anyway. agree with Twiglett, a must read for all women

katierocket · 15/05/2006 11:27

After 2 years TTC no 2 I am (unfortunately) the bloody expert on these books. \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0751338656/qid=1147688807/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_3_2/202-8888003-6382202\Zita West's} is definitely the best.

yes it is. Zita is a bit mung beans and knitted yogurt but her advice is spot on.

KTeePee · 15/05/2006 12:21

Cod I have a couple of books I don't need anymore on this topic, one by Professor Winston and one by Dr Sarah Brewer, on the planning aspect, another on alternative infertility treatments.

If your friend wants them I'd be happy to post them on - they will go to Oxfam otherwise

Tutter · 15/05/2006 12:25

I think TCOYF is great and very informative for getting pregnant / not getting pregnant / generally knowing what's going on with your body, cycles, etc.

BetsyBoop · 15/05/2006 13:35

TCOYF definitely the best
