I feel like such a twit. I'm sure nothing makes any difference really (except not doing hard drugs or jabbing myself in the ovaries with a big needle...)

I am doing IVF again. It's doing my head in - I am one of those people who needs to research and know what to do. But I have done it so much that by now there is nothing more to know what to do, iyswim.

In my position, what would you do to be in the best possible most productive/receptive condition?? Humour me......

Get dh to order, in advance, flowers from \link{http://davidaustinroses.com/english/CutRoseBouquets.asp\here}, one week before 'prime time' every month for 4 months and let me know if it works.

Smile

Best of luck. X

Tell him to get his credit card out and do the dirty.

(Oh, and don't listen to him when he asks when the last time that fellow got his dw flowers... that is not the point, Mr. Pruni. LOL).

Dinner can wait till the flowers have done their trick. Wink

Lots of luck, Pruni. Are you hoping to get it all done before the move? Might it possibly be better to wait until you're settled again, from the POV of stress reduction? Or maybe you're not stressed and the success rates are better where you are. Would you like any more totally worthless ramblings?

My advice would be to not wear your vest.

(Just wanted to say good luck really!! Smile)

Hi Pruni

We were told that IVF was our only way of having children. Like you, I wanted to feel an element of control by researching etc. We used a book called "Natural Solutions to Infertility" by Dr Marilyn Glenville.

It suggests that you spend at least 3 months preparing yourselves for conception (ie. both you and dh follow the suggestions!).

DH and I gave up alcohol, caffeine, red meat and cow dairy (switched to goat cheese, butter and milk), ate mainly organic, took more exercise, tood vitamin C, E, Omega 3, 6 & 9, did yoga and acupuncture.

I felt so much better for having taken control, rather than just waiting for the IVF to be "done" to me. My dh found it really hard to give up drinking, but managed to give up for about 6 months.

After gradually changing our lifestyle over a 2 year period, we stuck rigidly to the plan for about 6 months. We were due to start IVF/IVSI in May 2001 but in March 2001 I found out I was pregnant naturally. Grin

DD is now 18 months old.

Good luck Pruni - I hope it goes well for you.

I read about some research they did in Germany which showed having Accupuncture after the IVF improves the chances of implantation. The odds went up to a 50% chance of being pregnant.

Moomin · 16/05/2006 16:38

agree with beatie - acupuncture during the treatment can help prepare you and make the uterus more receptive, so i've heard. i booked acupuncture to accompany my treatment but got pregnant 2 days before the first appointment. i still had acupuncture to help the pregnancy along though, for the first 4 weeks. the practitioner told me she works with a lot of women having iui and ivf. if you do try to find one, make sure he/she has experience with fertility/maternity treatments. good luck x

Pruni, I know money is an issue but if you do want to explore the acupuncture route I might be able to help you find a decent one.
