Had to happen this month

Apologies - this is mainly a wail of frustration. TTC for the first time. Already a bit worried about it because I am 37 - my doctor already pointed out the error of my ways in not having a child when I was 18 and more fertile..

Anyway we are only on cycle 4 which I know is not long but now, alongside the general misery of having a period this month, my period has been going on for 14 days! Went to the doctor who has ordered blood tests for next week and then I am to go back a week later for results. Not even a chance at 2 week wait this month then.

Has any one else experienced this or can anyone offer some words of wisdom? Thanks.

Nice of your Dr to be so helpful, not. Not easy to say but try and be patient. Fertility Dr's probably won't be interested until you've been ttc for 6 months + and there is a good chance you'll conceive in that time. If not seek help early, there are options. Good luck.

Thanks. I know - I did point out that I was at uni at 18 (and single) so perhaps not the best time to be trying for a baby. He was not convinced.

Have you just come off BC such as the pill or coil? It can take quite a few months for your cycles to settle down if that is the case. Otherwise I think the tests will hopefully prove nothing is wrong. In the meantime poke your stupid doctor with a very sharp stick for being a dick

No - I had the implant removed about 18 months ago, so it is all a bit strange. I am sure there will be a straightforward explanation but it all just feels like bad timing.
