hiya everyone,
im new :) and just wanted to ask a couple of questions about the implanon. Can you get pregnant quickly after youve had it removed and i have had mine in 3 years in december (having it removed in 2 weeks) and i have been noticing recently i have been getting periods. when i first had it put in i never had any periods or pains but now i am getting them. As my hubby said the other day "are you bleeding again? you had that the other month didnt you?" men........
anyway i have read that you have to wait till youve had a period after its taken out before ttc? is this true? what has anyone else experienced?
i am already on folic acid, the doc put me on it yesterday as due to other medications i have to have (a whopping..) 5mg instead of 0.4mg which made me feel about adnormal but anyway!! hubby has been to boots and got his wellman conception on the 3 for 2 offer, he was well pleased with that! We are both eager to start and excited obviously. but as you can tell we want to do it "properly" as well because of my other tablets
anyway, ill look forward to your responses

I had mine removed in the November and I found out I was pregnant in the March.
Hadn't had any periods at all when I had mine in but they started straight away.

I had mine removed in November, I had on full period 6 weeks later and 4 weeks after that found out I was pregnant, just had my 12 weeks scan!!

Omg I hope I am as quick as you 2!!

I'm all set, hubby bought a little comforter the other day, whilst in boots with his wellman stuff lol

I'm excited but just want it to happen, NOW

Have to wait till april 18th tho :( still we are going on holiday on Friday so it might take my mind off 'wanting' lol xxx

For me, I had it removed in September, started ttc in December and got pregnant straight away. The implant is a really low dose, so there's nothing hanging around in your system after it is removed. Good luck!

Another quickie here.

Removed in the march, first period in the April, pregnant in the may.

And that was after 3 years implant and 8 years depo

You can ttc right away - they suggest you wait so they can date your pregnancy more accurately. I got mine removed in Aug and conceived in November. But I was on the pill for a month after stopping the implanon.

Omg ladies you are getting my hopes right up!!!

At this moment I am clearing out our third bedroom, last room to do in our house- we are clearing out the to make room and money!!

Thinking of having a little bambino is the only thing keeping me going!!! Otherwise I would have walked out the room hours ago lol

I had mine removed 10th Jan this year.. still waiting for AF - it would make a change from the many negative hpt's
I really got my hopes up that I'd be one of the lucky 1st-monthers. I guess it's still early days though

Thank you I hope you don't have to wait to long for a BFP after the implant is out.

BFP is Big Fat Positive (in case you didnt already know)
AF is a period or Aunt Flo
HPT's is Home Pregnancy Tests
I've taken loads but luckily they're only Internet Cheapies (IC's) from Ebay.
Off to take another now but I don't feel at all pregnant.
I had loads of what felt like symptoms, for the first 6 ish weeks after removal, but I think that must have been hormones being weird. Now I feel normal, like I did with the implant in. I didn't have any bleeding with it in and haven't had since. It's not even been 3 months yet so I think I'll give it a few more weeks then call the docs.

You don't have to wait for a period before TTC that's just so that the professionals can date your pregnancy easier but you're better off just getting started as it can take some time for your body to get back into routine and you could be one of the lucky ones If you do get pregnant and aren't sure of dates they'll send you for an additional early scan or guesstimate based on when the Implant is removed.

Sorry I rambled a bit there..

It seems that generally the hormones leave your system pretty quick (72 hours max my doctor said) and then you are just like everyone else trying to conceive. Might take one month for one couple and five years for another...

Argh Greencattis That's just made me worry more! It seems to me that hormonal Birth control can mask any problems a woman might have with Fertility.. so within a few days of removal everything should go back to normal but normal for a woman could be fertility issues.
I might be causing my lack of a
normal cycle by worrying though..
I am trying for a baby no.2

It's hard to find any official advice regarding TTC after the removal of Implanon. All official advice is about how effective it is and how it may affect you while you are using it.

Hmm I suppose everyone is different, but I want to know what I am going to be like. This is my first baby!

I had my implant out at the end of February. I bled for 8 days really heavily and nothing since. Has anyone had problems with their periods coming back after the implant?

I'm not pregnant either done 2 BFN. It's good to hear these positive stories but I'm also stressed there's something wrong.

I'm really worried maybe the implant has damaged my fertility as I had problems on it constantly bleeding but kept it in for 2 years as family planning clinic wouldn't remove it for me any sooner.

Pizzaqueen, I don't believe they wouldn't take it out!! You should have demanded it!!
I HAVE to have the implant due to other medication nothing else is suitable!

Johnandkymberley, they said I had to leave it in at least a year to let it 'settle down' as its a very expensive method of contraception for it to just be taken out, after a year they put me on the pill with it and told me to wait 6 months. So I asked my GP to take it out and he said he didn't deal with them and I had to go back to family planning. So altogether had it in over 2 years!

I'm hoping af shows up sometime soon. I was told when I got it removed that fertility returns rights away but now I've read so many other stories that say otherwise. I can only wait and see I suppose.

Has anyone on here used Angus Castus to help af return?

Pizza queen what a rigmarole!! My friend had her implant put in wrong and it was a nightmare for her to have it taken out, although it had snapped and everything!

Angus castus may help but did the doc recommend a time frame when AF would be here???

My AF were so irregular before the implant but then in he first 2 years of the implant I had nothing but in this last year it's all been settling down and coming on time so I'm hoping this will continue after the implant is removed!

It only takes 2 seconds to become pregnant - that's a real fact!! Xxx

It was my second one so about 2 years... First one went in straight after dd for full 3 years no probs and then was replaced it just randomly failed for some reason. Still I suppose gorgeous ds is worth it

When I was diagnosed with epilepsy they put me on a medication called sodium valproate, but took me off it when I got older as if i was get pregnant on that medication it could cause serious problems for the baby. A few years in I heard that a lot of mothers had been put on the medication when the docs knew they had been pregnant, they sued them and ended up with £1000.00's each!!!

I had mine taken out 1st feb 2012 and found out I was pregnant on 13th April 2012 (I remember as it was the day before my wedding). I had one bleed between implanon being removed and getting pg.

I have 2 DC and used agnus castus to conceive both. If I didn't use that I never really had periods and certainly not regularly.
