The mirena coil causes multiple births

Hi all,
I have read online somewhere that getting pregnant straight away after having the coil removed can cause the egg to split or for more than one to be released, causing multiples? I just wanted to know how true this is,as i had my coil removed a few weeks ago and me and my boyfriend are trying to conceive and so just wanted to get ourselves prepared if we are more likely! Twins are incredibly common in both our families and so we just wondered if this is going to be a very high chance or not?

I've never heard of that, but non-identical twins run in families (maternal side) as they come from more than one egg being fertilised and releasing more than one egg per month is something that can be inherited. Twins in your partner's family are irrelevant. Id twins come from the embryo splitting early on, and is a random mutation, slightly more common with ICSI IVF as the insertion of the needle seems to make it more likely that the embryo will split. I can't see how the mirena could influence either, tbh.
