Getting pregnant after the removal of the mirena coil

Hi guys,
I had my mirena coil taken out on the 16th of this month (march 2013) as me and my boyfriend are desperate to start a family! All of the people (both men and women) in both of our families are highly fertile and so we are hoping it'll happen asap! I was informed that it could happen instantly but i bled for around 4 days after it had been removed. We are both young, not big drinkers and are non smokers so this can only bode well for us surely?
I just wondered if there was anyone else, that was or is in a position like ours that would let us know how long it took for you to become pregnant as we are both highly impatient lol!
Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks!! Xxxxx

I would give wee bit of time to let your proper periods return as that would help date a pregnancy. It also gives a bit of time for the lining of your womb to thicken as the mirena causes it to thin and makes it harder for an embryo to implant. If you get pregnant too soon after its removal the lining may not be thick enough to sustain the pregnancy. Be patient and best of luck

I had mine out on 16th jan last year, I had a period of 3-4 days a few days later then bingo! - found out I was pregnant end of Feb.

We found out it was TWINS in April and they were born in October! Hope you're as lucky as we were xxx

Oh my goodness you truly are blessed! I hope mine is as instant as yours was lucky enough to be!
Twins are very common in both of our families and ive heard that twins are more likely of you get pregnant straight away after having the coil removed - I dont know how reliable this information is - I wouldn't mind in the slightest having multiples but id like to get myself prepared if it is more likely lol! Xxx
